 DOH XI awaits vaccines for 5-11 pediatric population

DAVAO CITY, March 7 (PIA) – The Department of Health XI is expecting faster and better numbers in the vaccination of 5 to 11 years old pediatric population as soon as vaccines will be delivered in the region. DOH XI Vaccination Program Focal Dr. Janis Olavides bared in the virtual presser today that more vaccination activities are expected to take place for the said age group this week as soon as vaccine allocation will be provided to the region. “ As of date, the vaccines we have received for this age group is only 7% out of  the total target population,” Dr. Olavides said. In the entire Davao Region, 61,501 doses of vaccines for the children aged 5 to 11 were received. Of this number, 22,000 were allocated for Davao City; 8,700 for Davao de Oro; 11,500 doses for Davao del Norte; 8,000 doses for Davao del Sur; 4,100 doses for Davao Occidental; and 7,200 doses for Davao Oriental. Parents urged to register children to Safe Davao QR before vax

DAVAO CITY, February 22—(PIA) A local vaccine czar urged parents to register first their children aged five to eleven to the SAFEDAVAO QR before they can go to vaccine sites for inoculation. Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, Vaccination Cluster head of the city bared the registration to the SAFEDAVAOQR is crucial so that their children will be integrated in the local vaccination system. She said that the vaccination for children now is on its second phase, with three vaccination sites namely San Roque Elementary School in Barrio Obrero, Vicente Hizon Elementary School at Barangay Sasa and the Almendras gym. “Children can be vaccinated on these sites, whether they are walk-ins provided they have registered at the SAFEDAVAOQR,” Villafuerte said. Davao Occidental rolls out vaccination for 5-11 years old

MALITA, Davao Occidental, Feb. 15 (PIA) – The vaccination rollout for the 5-11 years old group in Malita, Davao Occidental went smoothly on Tuesday (Feb. 15) at the New Malita gymnasium where kids got to pose for posterity with cartoon character standees and watched the film “Frozen” after getting vaccinated.   As of 3:00 p.m. on same day, 210 children mostly from Barangay Poblacion in Malita received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on the first day of vaccination for this age group in the province.     Davao Occidental Provincial Health Office Chief Dr. Anne Margaux Bautista-Quezada said that 1,300 doses of the Pfizer vaccines were allocated for the provincial launch of the pediatric vaccination.   "Very receptive. LGUs in DavNor kick off vaxxing 5-11 yrs old

DAVAO DEL NORTE, Feb. 14 (PIA) -- The city and municipal local government units in the Province of Davao Del Norte commenced their pediatric vaccination for kids aged 5-11 years old today, February 14, 2022, in response to the call of the Department of Health to conduct the simultaneous kick-off rites of pediatric vaccination today.  5-11 year old pediatric vaccination starts today

DAVAO CITY, Feb. 14 (PIA) An approximate number of 250 children were expected to be vaccinated at the Southern Philippines Medical Center yesterday as the pediatric vaccination for kids ages five to eleven commenced Monday (FEB. 14). DAVAO DE ORO, February 14 (PIA) - - The province of Davao de Oro celebrates Valentine’s Day today (February 14), with the Kick-Off Ceremony of the Pediatric Vaccination for 5-11 years old. Vaccination for 5-11 years old slated on Feb. 14

DAVAO CITY, Feb. 8 (PIA)—The pediatric vaccine roll out for children with age 5 to 11 in Davao Region will be on February 14 to ensure preparedness in vaccines and logistics.     Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, local vaccine czar said that the first venues of the vaccination roll out for children will be in the hospitals where parents have to bring the birth certificates of their children, ID cards to identify the children, and the ID cards of parents or guardians.   She bared that the vaccination roll out for children will be done on February 14 at the Davao Doctors Hospital, Davao Medical School Foundation Hospital, Southern Philippines Medical Center and the Siemens, then after two weeks, two special vaccination areas will be opened at the Hizon Elementary School, San Roque Elementary School located at the back of Victoria Plaza, Almendras gym and the USEP in Bo. Davao Region to start vaccination of 5-11 year old on Feb 14

DAVAO CITY, Feb. 3 (PIA) – The Davao Region will start the COVID19 vaccination for the 5 to 11 year old age group on February 14. In a regional advisory of the Davao Center for Health Development, it has informed that Davao Region is included in the Phase 3 implementation of the vaccination for the said priority group. This after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued last December 22, 2021 an Emergency Use Authorization for Pfizer to be used for the 5-11 year old age group. The region targets to inoculate 790, 286 children under this age group. Davao City targets to vaccinate 269,121; Davao de Oro has a 115,370 target; Davao del Norte has 152, 521 target; Davao del Sur with 104,253; Davao Occidental with 53,469 target; and Davao Oriental with with 95,552 target. The Department of Health (DOH) designed the vaccination rollout to be conducted within three months of the campaign. DAVAO CITY, Jan. 26 (PIA) - Members of the Regional Vaccination Operation Center (RVOC) in Davao Region are now preparing for the rollout of the COVID19 vaccination of the pediatric population 5 to 11 years old. This was discussed in the weekly RVOC meeting where the draft guidelines was tackled as part of the preparation of the vaccination for this new priority group. During the Talk to the People held last Monday (January 25), National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID19 chief implementer Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr announced that the government is set to rollout the COVID19 vaccination for five to 11 years old on February 4. In the draft guidelines, the administration for this new priority group will still be in a phased approach. According to Department of Health –XI Regional Director Anabelle Yumang M.D. they are expecting 200 vaccinees for the initial pediatric vaccination at the SPMC.   A short and simple ceremony was held at the grounds of the SPMC. DAVAO CITY -  The province of Davao de Oro will start the vaccination of children aged 12 to 17 years old with comorbidities on October 29, 2021. DAVAO CITY, Oct 19 (PIA) -  The Department of Health XI (DOH XI) is optimistic that Davao Region will be included in the Phase 3 implementation of the vaccination for individuals aged 12 to 17 years old with comorbidities by November this year. DOH XI Vaccination Program Focal Dr. Janis Olavides said that currently, vaccination is still done in the National Capital Region (NCR). Phase 3 of implementation will then follow including all regions which have exceeded 50% of their target senior citizen population. As of October 18, the Davao region has already covered 47% of the target number of senior citizens to be vaccinated. The local government units (LGUs) have been informed to strategize more to capture the unvaccinated senior citizens. DOH XI also announced that 12 to 17 years old individuals with comorbidities may heed to the instruction of the LGU as to the mechanics if masterlisting or pre-registration is still needed.
