Digos City Mayor urges parents to have kids get COVID-19 jabs

DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur, Feb. 23 (PIA) – Digos City Mayor Josef Cagas was grateful to parents who submitted their young children to get vaccinated against COVID-19, as he urged them to embrace the new normal.   In the vaccination rollout for the 5-11 years old pediatric population in the city late last week, Cagas stated  “mga parents, salamat kaayo ani. 200 bikers join bike for peace, medical mission in Digos

DAVAO CITY, Dec. 10 (PIA) – About 200 bikers from different organizations in Regions 11 and 12, as well as the Youth4Peace Movement organization joined the Bike for Peace and Medical Mission activity launched by the 39 th  Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army on Friday (December 10, 2021) in Digos City, Davao del Sur.   The Bike for Peace and Medical Mission gathered the bikers at Rizal Park in Digos City by five in the morning, who pedaled their way to Sitio Bandera in Barangay Balabag, one of the remote barangays in Digos City, where the medical mission took place.   In the medical mission, several services were provided such as medical check-up for illnesses, free medicines, haircut and “operation tuli” or circumcision operations.   Apart from the Philippine Army, the other government agencies and organizations from the private sector also took part in the activity such as the Digos City local government unit, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Rev...

Digos City LGU starts implementation of P40-M barangay development projects

DAVAO CITY, Oct. 28 (PIA) – The implementation of projects worth P40-million under the Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) has commenced to soon benefit the residents of Barangays Balabag and Goma in Digos City.   The local government of Digos City has led on Wednesday (Oct. 27) the groundbreaking ceremonies for the rehabilitation and improvement of potable water systems in both barangays, concreting of road from Sitio Tubor to Sitio Roblehan in Brgy. Goma, and upgrading of road from Sitio Bandera to Sitio Lumayan in Brgy. Digos City LGU requires mandatory vaccination for all personnel

  DAVAO CITY, Sept. 27 (PIA) – The local government unit of Digos City has required the city LGU’s personnel including the plantilla, job order, contract of service and COVID-19 volunteers to undergo a mandatory vaccination. The LGU has issued Executive Order No. 40, Series of 2021 on September 24, 2021.   The said EO took effect on the same day, and gave the LGU personnel until November 30, 2021 to be fully vaccinated as sanctions may take place.   Atty. Marty Basunillo, Digos City LGU acting administrator, said the order aims to promote the vaccination program and attain herd immunity.   In a press conference on September 24, Basunillo discussed the status of COVID-19 in the city as well as the EO where sanctions are set for those who will refuse to get vaccinated for some unjustifiable reason.    He cited that for the plantilla personnel, sanctions will be suspension for one to six months for the 1 st  warning and dismissal of service.   The LG...
