Face to face classes in 186 Davao Region schools suspended 

DAVAO CITY, Feb. 9 (PIA) – Department of Education (DepEd) XI Regional Director Dr. Allan Faranzo announced in the One Davao Virtual Presser that 186 schools in Davao Region temporarily suspended face to face classes which were supposedly scheduled to start last February 7. “ Handang-handa na sana ang 186 na paaralan dito sa Davao Region para sa face to face na klase na dapat sana ay nagsimula noong Pebrero 7.  Handa na sana ang mga ito batay sa pag-comply nila sa mga requirements at nagkaroon rin ito ng consultation at endorsement. Subalit sinusunod natin ang health alert level system na kapag Alert Level 3 ay automatic na suspended ang face to face classes,”  Dr. Faranzo said. These schools passed the requirements based on the School Safety Assessment Tool used by the DepEd together with other government offices. 18 public schools in Davao Region included for pilot face-to-face classes

DAVAO CITY, Sept. 22 (PIA) - Eighteen public schools in Davao region will be included in the pilot face-to-face classes as recently approved by President Rodrigo Roa-Duterte. The Department of Education XI spokesperson Jenelito Atillo confirmed this thru the One Davao Virtual Presser that 18 public schools in Davao Region have already been identified and included in the 100 schools identified nationwide for pilot face-to-face classes. The pilot implementation of limited face-to-face classes will give the government a ground experience on the operationalization and effectiveness of the protocols and contingency measures should there be cases of exposure or infection. Further, the said agency hopes to identify the difficulties and gaps for operational refinements and assess the benefits of the blending of face-to-face classes with distance learning in terms of learning delivery and outcomes. Davao City LGU in talks with DepEd for pilot face-to-face classes

DAVAO CITY, Sept. 21 (PIA) – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte bared that the Department of Education Davao Region reached out to the local government to prepare for the pilot face-to-face classes in public schools. Announced in a radio interview earlier, the mayor shared that the LGU was asked to submit a list of public schools where face to face classes will be rolled out and which will be discussed in the city’s COVID-19 task force meeting. “ The agreement is out if 182 barangays, they will be ranked according to risk assessment and the last three barangays in terms of risk assessment will be selected for the pilot face to face and dili tanan schools didto sa ilang barangay (not all schools in their barangay) .
