Diocese of Tagum PPCRV notes peaceful, secure elections

DAVAO DEL NORTE, 20 May (PIA) – The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) of the Diocese of Tagum noted a peaceful conduct of the National and Local Elections on May 09, 2022 in  the provinces of Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro. Diocese of Tagum Diocesan Lay Assistant PPCRV Coordinator Mark Laurence M. Valdez expressed such observation as guest of  the recent edition of  the radio program Sayron Ta! Police, AFP declare election as generally peaceful in DavSur, DavOcc

DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur, May 10 (PIA) – The Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines in Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental declared the conduct of the National and Local Elections 2022 in the provinces as generally peaceful and orderly. “I’m happy to report na dito sa Davao Occidental ang halalan ay naging mapayapa. Walang naganap na karahasan o kaguluhan, at ang mga tao ay malayang nakaboto ng walang takot ,” stated PCol. Roel Flores, provincial director of Davao Occidental Police Provincial Office. PCol. Julius E. Silagan, chief of the Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office, has also reported that the election has been relatively peaceful with no untoward incident transpired in all voting centers in the province. Davao de Oro to beef up security for May 2022 elections

DAVAO DE ORO, March 22 (PIA) - - Security will be beefed up in the province of Davao de Oro for the National and Local Elections on May 9, 2022. In an interview, Police Colonel Leonard Luna, provincial director of Davao de Oro Provincial Police Office (DDOPPO), disclosed that at least two security personnel will be deployed per voting center or school in the province for the election. According to the data from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Davao de Oro has 508,221 registered electorate to vote in 791 clustered precincts located in 287 voting centers or schools. “Together with COMELEC and AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines), we have a workshop para mapag-usapan ang personnel na ideploy naming especially those in the high-risk areas in terms of insurgency, doon sa mga GIDAs (geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas,” Luna said. Voters’ registration mobile app available to Tagumenyos

  DAVAO DEL NORTE, June 17 (PIA) – Tagum residents can now accomplish their voter’s registration through a mobile app called “Mobile Registration Form Application” created by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). During the app’s launch at Atrium, New City Hall, Tagum City on June 15, COMELEC Commissioner Marlon S. Casquejo said that the mobile app “aims to enhance the voter registration experience amidst the pandemic.” With this app, Tagum registrants can fill out the application form using an android smartphone instead of the traditional pen and paper. When completed, a QR code will be generated and must be saved in the phone. To be officially registered, a registrant should bring the QR code to their nearest Office of the Election Officer (OEO) where the registrant can proceed straight to the biometrics section after the scanning of the QR Code as it contains the already completed application form.
