Duterte Legacy Caravan held in Toril

DAVAO CITY, April 29 (PIA)—A total of 27-line agencies of the government participated in the Duterte Legacy Caravan dubbed as convergence of all agencies, with the theme, “Pagkakaisa ng mga mamamayan at Pamahalaan tungo sa Pagbabago, Pagkakaisa at Kaunlaran” in Barangay Toril, Gym, Davao City where they highlighted the services to the Filipino people. Diocese of Mati honors Ateneo de Davao

MATI, DAVAO ORIENTAL- The Diocese of Mati honored the Jesuit-run Ateneo de Davao University for its contribution to the digitization of the Caraga Church records during the Diocese’s culmination celebration of the 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines which was held at the Mati City Baywalk Park on April 25. The digitization project was undertaken by the Ateneo de Davao University Archives in 2021. The project involves digitizing the important historical records of the 138- year old San Salvador del Mundo Church located in the Municipality of Caraga, Davao Oriental. The University worked on 19 th century documents which consisted of records involving baptisms, marriage, confirmation,   deaths and financial accounts. The project covers 16 volumes and 2,500 pages. The digitized materials provided a wealth of cultural and historical information not just for the province of Davao Oriental but the whole Davao Region as well. More than jobs,  livelihood and business chances at stake to mark Labor Day 2022

DAVAO DEL NORTE, April 29 (PIA)--- Job, business and livelihood  opportunities  are at stake during the rollout of this year’s Labor Day in Davao del Norte.   The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Davao del Norte has enrolled three job fairs with Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) component and one job fair to mark the  2022 Labor Day.   Guesting during the  recent episode of Sayron Ta! Davao Region’s economy grows at 5.9% in 2021

DAVAO CITY, April 29 (PIA) – From a negative 7.5 percent economic growth in 2020 due to the pandemic, Davao Region bounced back and posted the biggest regional economy in the entire Mindanao with 5.9% as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and Gross Regional Domestic Expenditure (GRDE). This was announced in the News Conference held yesterday by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao Region  reporting the region’s 2021 economic performance. Davao Region’s economy in 2021 is valued as P882 billion, a big leap valued at P48 billion compared to 2020. However, the PSA reported that it is still short of P18.5 billion compared to the region’s economy during pre-pandemic. TESDA XI Strengthen Partnership and Linkages thru EBT Program

DOLE to intensify program vs child labor

DAVAO DEL NORTE, Apr. 28 (PIA) - The Department of Labor and Employment is set to wage intensified projects and activities to address child labor. DOLE Davao del Norte Program facilitator Dave Andrei Villegas revealed a total of 1,037 cases of child laborers profiled in the first quarter of 2022 in the municipalities of Sto Tomas and Carmen. These profiled child laborers were found in the banana industry most engaged in banana peeling. Villegas said that based on research, the child labor cases persist especially in the immediate past years due to the economic loses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. “Because of the pandemic  dili maiwasan nga naa jud ta mga child laborers. More than 6k jobs at hybrid Labor Day Jobs Fair

DAVAO CITY (PIA)-   A total of 6,867 jobs vacancies will be offered at the 2022 Labor Day  Trabaho, Neogsyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Job and Business Fair on May 1, 2022 at the NCCC Mall Buhangin in Davao City. The vacancies consist of 5,320 local job opportunities and 1,547 overseas vacancies from around 78 employers in the Davao Region. The event is organized by the Department of Labor and Employment XI in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and the NCCC Mall. DAVAO CITY, Apr. 27 (PIA)—The Davao City Police Office is all set for the local and national elections on May 9. Colonel Alberto Lupaz, acting director of the Davao City Police Office told members of the AFP-PNP Press Corps that the local police is already 100 percent ready for the holding of the national and local elections.     He said 80 percent of the local police force will perform election-related duties while the 20 percent will man the police precincts.   “I’ll assign two policemen in every polling precinct, and I’ll add more policemen on areas with clustered polling precincts,” Lupaz said.
