DTI provides PHP 2.5M facilities to 3 groups in Davao de Oro

Lucky Seigfred Balleque, prov'l director of DTI Davao de Oro, inspects the biomass furnace SSF facility  DAVAO DE ORO, January 21 (PIA) - - The Department of Trade Industry (DTI) distributed on Thursday shared service facilities (SSF) totaling to more than PhP 2.5 million to three groups in Davao de Oro. The identified cooperators of the SSF projects were VPI Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (VPI ARBCO), VPI Employees Cooperative (VPIEMPCO), and Maco Centro OFW Family Association (MACOFA).   A banana flour producing cooperative, VPIARBCO, received a biomass furnace (mechanical dryer) worth Php 1.68 million. VPIEMPCO obtained the first Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for a shared service facility in the province worth PhP 677,980. The ICT equipment consists of 20 desktop computer sets with noise cancelling headsets, keyboards, mice, uninterruptible power supply, swivel chairs and web cameras. DTI-DavOcc’s entrep seminars benefit 1,500 clients

MALITA, Davao Occidental - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) here has already assisted a total of 1,500 clients through its entrepreneurial seminars and skills training interventions.   As of May this year, the office reported that its 50 seminars and training have already helped numerous existing entrepreneurs who experienced the downside of Covid-19. The health pandemic caused disruptions in the operation of many businesses which has resulted in a decreased income. There were even some that filed for bankruptcy and closer their businesses completely.   DTI-Davao Occidental Program Office manager Ma. Joycelyn F.
