DAVAO CITY, September 23 (PIA) – About 607 barangay projects in spread throughout 215 barangays in Davao region with a total amount of P4.3 billion under the Support to the Barangay Development Program (SBDP) have been started and are set to be completed by the end of this year or early next year. This was bared by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) during the One Davao Virtual Presser held Wednesday being tasked to handle the monitoring and evaluation of the said projects. The DILG Assistant Regional Director Abdullah Matalam explained that the said project funds emanated through the Executive Order 70 or the Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) by providing developmental government support to conflict-cleared barangays to ensure sustainability of development and finally ending insurgency in the community. Matalam elaborated that each identified cleared barangay gets a P20-million worth of projects which were identified by the barangay folks. M
