Davao Oriental adopts Alert Level System

DAVAO CITY, Oct. 27 (PIA)- The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental has adopted the National Inter Agency Task Force-mandated Alert Level System in dealing with COVID-19 cases in its jurisdiction.   The Alert Level System is the new community quarantine classification aimed at managing the virus thru certain system indicators, triggers and thresholds as determined by the IATF.   Under the Alert Level System, there will be five levels which would determine the appropriate response protocols.   Alert Level 1 - refers to areas wherein case transmission is low and decreasing, total bed utilization rate, and intensive care unit utilization rate is low. Alert Level 2 - refers to areas wherein case transmission is low and decreasing, healthcare utilization is low, or case counts are low but increasing, or case counts are low and decreasing but total bed utilization rate and intensive care unit utilization rate is increasing.  Sta. Cruz LGU continues food assistance to COVID-19 patients

DAVAO CITY, Oct. 1 (PIA) – The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office of the local government of Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur has kept up with its food assistance for the COVID-19 patients, using available resources.   Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the LGU of Sta. COVID-19 variants in DavOr not variants of concern- DOH

DAVAO CITY, June 23 (PIA) – The Department of Health XI clarified in a letter sent to the Davao Oriental Provincial Government that reported variants specifically from the confirmed cases from the said province are not identified as variant of concerns. This came after a news item  released by the Mati City Information Office citing that variants taken from the confirmed cases from Davao Oriental are B.1, B.1.78 and A.4. “The reported variants are not identified as variant of concerns because current data are insufficient to determine whether the variant will require more appropriate and specific health action,” DOH XI regional director Annabelle P. Sars-CoV2 sequencing in Mindanao leads to better understanding of the virus

DAVAO CITY, June 22 (PIA) – The Philippine Genome Center (PGC) – Mindanao along with six other partner sites in Mindanao are set to start the SARS-CoV-2 sequencing project this week in collaboration with the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) and the University of Glasgow. PGC-Mindanao center director Dr. Lyre Anni Murao, guesting in One Davao Virtual Presser, announced that the first batch of sequencing will run for about a week after getting needed samples from the different regions in Mindanao. “So far, three laboratories have already submitted samples and we are looking forward to receive other samples from other laboratories,” Dr. Murao said. Davao City LGU takes cue from IATF on quarantine status

DAVAO CITY, June 21 (PIA)- Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio revealed that the city takes its cue from the Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid-19 regarding the quarantine status to be followed beyond June 30. She clarified that the City Government follows only the advice issued by the national government when it comes to quarantine classification. Duterte-Carpio suspected that the surge is due to the presence of a more infectious variant, more people outside going to work, and non-practice of the minimum public health standard inside the dwelling places. “MPHS is not practice much on the households,” she said. Duterte-Carpio advised COVID-19 positive patients who are waiting for pick up might resort to telemedicine to talk to the doctors regarding the felt symptoms. City Council mulls fine for those defying mandatory swab testing

DAVAO City June 17 (PIA) The 19th City Council might impose a fine for those defying the mandatory swab test through the Davao QR code and through the advice of the contact tracers. Councilor Mabel Sunga-Acosta, chair of the committee on peace and order and public safety of the 19th City Council clarified that there is no penalty yet for those who received an advisory through the DQR Code and from the contact tracers for mandatory swab test. She said it is just a proposal which will be a subject for a public hearing Friday with the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Incorporated and the measure will be presented in the plenary of the City Council on Tuesday for voting by the members of the City Council.
