DAVAO DE ORO, June 22 (PIA) - Since the start of the implementation of the uniform guidelines on the regional border control, authorities in Davao de Oro has barred the entry of 190 persons at the checkpoint in Barangay Pasian, Monkayo from June 8 to 21, 2021.
Police Captain Marion Sibayan, 3rd platoon leader of the 1st DDO Provincial Mobile Force Company, revealed that the reason for the denial is mostly due to lack of RT-PCR test results.
“Aside from RT-PCR, ang uban kay non-essential ang lakaw; ug ang uban wala makapakita og documents, proof, or justification nga essential ilang lakaw,” PCpt. Sibayan said. (Aside from RT-PCR, the other (reason) is that their travel is considered non-essential; while other persons did not have documents, proof, or justification that their travel is essential.)
The uniform guidelines on the regional border control is in accordance with Joint Regional Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases XI and Regional Task Force Against COVID-19 (RIATF-RTF) Resolution No. 01, series of 2021.
Among others, the resolution sets forth the guidelines on who are allowed entry in the region, which includes those considered as Authorized Persons outside Residence or APORs like health workers and government officials on official travel; returning residents with negative RT-PCR test results; non-residents with proof of their essential travel in the region; nonresident-tourist with booking confirmation, negative RT-PCR test result, and StaySafe.ph application; and passing through travelers.
The police captain also recalled an incident when all of the 12 passengers in a bus coming from Manila were denied entry. He disclosed that the passengers are from Manila, Leyte, and Samar, and were advised to go back to where they came from. (PIA11, Michael Uy)
