Davao Occidental rolls out vaccination for 5-11 years old

MALITA, Davao Occidental, Feb. 15 (PIA) – The vaccination rollout for the 5-11 years old group in Malita, Davao Occidental went smoothly on Tuesday (Feb. 15) at the New Malita gymnasium where kids got to pose for posterity with cartoon character standees and watched the film “Frozen” after getting vaccinated.   As of 3:00 p.m. on same day, 210 children mostly from Barangay Poblacion in Malita received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on the first day of vaccination for this age group in the province.     Davao Occidental Provincial Health Office Chief Dr. Anne Margaux Bautista-Quezada said that 1,300 doses of the Pfizer vaccines were allocated for the provincial launch of the pediatric vaccination.   "Very receptive. 73rd IB conducts outreach program in DavOcc

PSA Davao Occidental set to complete labor force, family income surveys  

  MALITA, Davao Occidental, Jan. 28 – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Davao Occidental provincial office is expected to complete its January 2022 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2021 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) by end of January this year.   Jessie A. Madulin, PSA Davao Occidental chief statistical specialist, said that his office hired 52 statistical researchers to interview 1,540 sample households from the different barangays of the five municipalities in the province.   The statistical researchers are using the Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) during the interviews, Madulin said in a press release.   He added that the researchers have been trained to equip them with the concepts and definition, related knowledge, enumeration strategies and responsibilities to ensure quality of output and compliance to targets and survey requirements.   Madulin explained that the LFS is a nationwide quarterly survey of households conducted by PSA that aims to pr

DavOcc intensifies COVID-19 vaccination in far-flung barangays

DAVAO CITY, Jan. 5 (PIA) – The Provincial Health Office of Davao Occidental has intensified its assistance in the COVID-19 vaccination in the five municipalities of the province, in a bid to finally reach herd immunity.     The administration of the COVID-19 vaccines though has been part of the efforts of the PHO since the onset of the vaccination drive especially in the municipality of Malita, but starting this month the PHO is set to help in the vaccination activities of the other local government units.   “Our assistance is not just technical, not just monitoring, but the PHO has also established our own vaccination site and has been administering the vaccines as help to our LGUs,” said Prince Paraiso, PHO’s Health Education and Promotion Officer.   Paraiso said that after Malita this week, the PHO’s vaccination team will be going to Jose Abad Santos and Sta. DavOcc senior high graduating students urged to apply for DOST scholarship

DAVAO CITY, Dec. 24 (PIA) – The senior high school graduating students in Davao Occidental province were urged to apply for the Science Education Institute (SEI) undergraduate scholarship program of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). DOST Davao Occidental Provincial Director Maria Victoria I. Students, parents in Sarangani Island urged to get jabs against COVID-19

DAVAO CITY, Dec. 7 (PIA) – The students aged 12-17 years old in Sarangani, the island municipality of Davao Occidental province, were urged to be inoculated against COVID-19 in preparation for the face to face classes early next year. Dr. Roy T. PSA Davao Occidental records 182,359 residents registered in PhilSys

DAVAO CITY, Oct. 22 (PIA) – The Philippine Statistics Authority Davao Occidental has already recorded 182,359 residents or 97 per cent of the 187,000 target population in the province, who have completed registration with the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) as of October 20, 2021.   Davao Occidental Provincial Statistics Officer Jessie Madulin is hoping that the remaining 5,000 population targeted this year will register before the year ends.   During his guesting in today’s Gobyernong Balitaan radio program of the Philippine Information Agency Davao Occidental on Energy FM Digos City, Madulin bared that the total registrants of the national ID system represents 57% of the total population (317,159) of the province.   To ensure continuous registration of residents in far-flung barangays, the PSA official said that they are currently employing mobile registration in selected barangays.   In the Municipality of Malita, the registration activities are located in the following b

Jose Abad Santos vaccination rate improves
