DOT-XI sees great potentials in DavOr

DAVAO CITY, Mar. 3 (PIA) - With the tourism sector on the verge of recovery the Department of Tourism Region XI is seeing the great potentials of Davao Oriental. Davao Oriental shows a very promising tourist destination. We have many established sites and maganda ang circuit offerings, DOT-XI Regional Director Tanya Rabat Tan describes the province during her guesting at the inaugural Tourism Talks held on Feb. 25 at SM Lanang Premiere. The province located at the eastern side of Davao region is known for its beaches, seascapes, lush mountains, waterfalls along with historical sites. Among the famous sites include Dahican beach in Mati City, Mt. Hamiguitan in San Isidro, Aliwagwag Falls in Cateel, the old San Salvador del Mundo church in Caraga, Cape San Agustin in Governor Generoso. Sustained tourism dev’t seen in areas cleared of insurgency, Army chief says

DAVAO DEL NORTE, 23 February (PIA) --- Sustaining tourism interest is the way to go for areas which have been cleared from influence of  the communist terrorist groups (CTGs).   Outgoing commander of the Philippine Army 10 th  Inf “Agila” Division, Lt  General Ernesto C. Sports and Tourism facilities being developed in DavOr

DAVAO CITY, Nov. 17 (PIA)- The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental is in the process of developing its sports and tourism complexes. Davao Oriental Governor Nelson L. Tourism sustains in Davao de Oro amidst pandemic

DAVAO DE ORO, Nov. 4 (PIA) - The tourism industry in Davao de Oro has thrived even with the stricter regulations due to COVID-19 pandemic. During the PTV Network Briefing News, Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy disclosed that Davao de Oro placed fourth among all the provinces in the country in terms of domestic tourist arrivals in 2020. Governor Uy added that according to the data from the Department of Tourism (DOT), the province notched six ranks higher than in 2019, when Davao de Oro was at the tenth place. “This economic indicator is a big boost to our businessmen, resort owners, and MSMEs,” he said. In his State of the Province Address (SOPA), the chief executive also bared that the number of micro, small, and medium enterprise rose by 34.69% from 11,330 in 2016 to 15,863 in 2020, while there is also an increase in the number of large enterprises by 35.3% percent on the same period, from 17 to 25.
