Sports and Tourism facilities being developed in DavOr



DAVAO CITY, Nov. 17 (PIA)- The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental is in the process of developing its sports and tourism complexes.


Davao Oriental Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang cited the two projects as among the major infrastructure developments undertaken in the province alongside the concreting of roads in the provinces.


“Unang-una pagsesemento natin nang ating mga kalsada papuntang geographic isolated areas atin na yun naman kinakailangan ng ating taong bayan. As of now ongoing ang ating provincial sports complex na meron tayong more than 12 hectares. Dahil na rin sa kakulangan ng tourism facilities dito sa probinsya, malapit na rin matapos itong ating tourism complex na kung saan andyan ang inland resort at convention center (Firstly the concreting of our roads to geographic isolated areas which are needed by the constituents. As of now our provincial sports complex is ongoing, where we have more than 12 hectares. And because we lack tourism facilities in the province our tourism complex is nearing completion where we have the inland resort and the convention center),” Gov. Dayanghirang said.


The Provincial Sports Complex located in Barangay Don Martin Marundan in Mati City is expected to have world-class sports facilities such as a football field, a 10,000-capacity stadium, athletics field, aquatic center, athletes village, training gym. 


While the Provincial Tourism Complex in Mati City adjacent to the Subangan Museum will have dormitories, family villas, swimming pool, coffee and souvenir shop. It will also have a large convention center. The facility will enable the province to host large events and attract more tourists to visit the province. (PIA/RG Alama)

Completed projects turned over to far-flung villages in DavSur

DAVAO CITY, Dec. 24 (PIA) – The provincial government of Davao del Sur has intensified its turnover of completed projects to provide convenience to the intended beneficiaries in the far-flung areas in the province.   Among the recently turned over was the covered space with stage worth P1,186,886.58 for the Sibulan National High School in the remote barangay of Sibulan in the municipality of Sta. Cruz.   An electrification project with 150-watt solar lights was also provided for the benefit of the barangay residents.   Governor Marc Cagas turned over the projects to the school teaching personnel represented by Isabelito F. DavSur expo features world-class local products, tourist destinations
