Completed projects turned over to far-flung villages in DavSur

DAVAO CITY, Dec. 24 (PIA) – The provincial government of Davao del Sur has intensified its turnover of completed projects to provide convenience to the intended beneficiaries in the far-flung areas in the province.   Among the recently turned over was the covered space with stage worth P1,186,886.58 for the Sibulan National High School in the remote barangay of Sibulan in the municipality of Sta. Cruz.   An electrification project with 150-watt solar lights was also provided for the benefit of the barangay residents.   Governor Marc Cagas turned over the projects to the school teaching personnel represented by Isabelito F. DavSur LGUs bagged awards in the 9th Regional Competitiveness Summit

DAVAO CITY, Dec. 21 (PIA) – Various local government units in the province of Davao del Sur bagged awards at the recently concluded 9 th  Regional Competitiveness Summit hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).   Following the win of the Digos City LGU as the 1 st  most improved LGU in the component cities category, the municipal LGU of Sulop also grabbed the most competitive LGU in infrastructure pillar under the class 3–4 municipalities category.   The 7 th  overall most competitive LGU under the class 3–4 municipalities category was also bestowed to Sulop LGU.   The LGU of Padada was awarded the 7 th  most improved LGU for class 3–4 municipalities category.   The LGU of Magsaysay has also been conferred as the 4 th  most competitive LGU on the government efficiency pillar for class 3 – 4 municipalities category and the 8 th  most competitive LGU on resiliency pillar for the same category.   The 5 th  most competitive LGU in Government Efficiency Pillar for class 3–4 mun

2nd batch of former rebels graduate from DavSur’s Tupad Pangako

DavSur’s national vaccination provincial kick-off gets influx of eager vaccinees

DOH Usec Dr. Abdullah Dumama, Jr. administers the vaccination of Diosdado Canete during the Bayanihan Bakunahan SULOP, Davao del Sur, Nov. 29 (PIA) – The officials of the Department of Health and the local government unit of Sulop in Davao del Sur, were happy to see the influx of eager residents to get inoculated during the provincial kick-off of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Days in said municipality.   Many eligible Sulopians have flocked to the Holy Cross of Sulop, where the kick-off ceremony took place, to take the chance of receiving their COVID-19 vaccines.   As of 6:00pm on November 29, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Fidel Marcelo Malate reported through a phone interview that from the five vaccination sites, a total of 1,277 Sulop residents have been vaccinated during the first day of the NVD.   Malate said that the number has so far been the highest recorded in a day of vaccination in the entire municipality. “The NVD activity has really helped a lot,” he stated.   Although

DavSur provincial LGU targets over 130,000 inoculated on Bayanihan Bakunahan

DAVAO CITY, Nov. 25 (PIA) – The provincial government of Davao del Sur has targeted 134,866 individuals in the entire province to get inoculated during the “Bayanihan Bakunahan” National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign on November 29, 30 to December 1, 2021.   Davao del Sur Governor Marc Douglas IV Cagas has issued Executive Order No. 39 Series of 2021 on Monday (Nov. 22), enjoining all local government units and stakeholders in the province to support and participate in the three-day vaccination drive.   In the executive order, Cagas raised the importance of the provincial LGU’s full support to the national vaccination campaign to further accelerate the vaccination rollout and to achieve at least 70 per cent of its eligible population.   It aims to get a daily target of 44,962 vaccinees in the whole province during the period.   The following are the breakdown of the total target population per city/municipality: Bansalan -5,667; Digos City - 13,005; Hagonoy - 5,310; Kiblawan - 4,274; M

DavSur’s state college rolls out vaccination for students

DAVAO CITY, Nov. 4 (PIA) – The Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) in Digos City has organized a three-day vaccination rollout which benefitted 468 students including staff and teachers who received their first jab of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.   The vaccination drive held at the DSSC gymnasium on November 2-4, 2021 was part of the “Sama-Samang Vaccination Program for Tertiary Students in Davao Region,” an initiative of the Commission on Higher Education Region XI (CHED-XI) in partnership with the Department of Health Region XI (DOH-XI).   DSSC President Dr. Augie E. DavSur expo features world-class local products, tourist destinations

DAVAO CITY, Sept. 23 (PIA) – The world-class and award winning local products and travel destinations in Davao del Sur are being featured and promoted in the first DavSur Travel and Trade Expo 2021.     Despite the pandemic, the virtual edition of the provincial expo has been made possible through the initiatives of the Department of Trade and Industry of Davao del Sur and the Provincial Tourism Development and Promotion Office.   DTI-Davao del Sur Provincial Director Maria Victoria Placer explained that the expo highlights the province's globally competitive products as well as the tourism destinations, circuits and activities.                                               Since its launch on Tuesday (Sept. 21), the virtual expo has been staging several activities such as the opening ceremony, webinars on entrepreneurship and financial literacy and the Filipino brand of Service, and online show on tourist attractions and culinary products.   “It is with utmost pride that we boast
