LGUs prepare for the 3-day Bayanihan Bakunahan

DAVAO CITY, November 23 (PIA) – Following the advisory issued by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for local government units to join and support the Bayanihan Bakunahan on November 29 to December 1, the LGUs in Davao Region are now preparing for the actual conduct of the nationwide vaccination event.  “Ongoing na ang mga meetings sa different LGUs in preparation for the event. They are now working on the logistics, their target number of vaccinees, how to go about with the vaccination, and also how to get volunteers,” DILG XI Regional Director Alex Roldan said. Mati City begins house-to-house vax

Household vaccination in Mati City (photo by Mati CIO) DAVAO CITY, Oct. 22 (PIA)- The City of Mati in Davao Oriental is bringing its COVID-19 vaccination program to purok clusters and households.   Today Friday (Oct. 22) the Mati City Health Office has started its house-to-house vaccination for senior citizens and people with comorbidities. This will complement the ongoing vaccinations at the designated vaccination sites and those scheduled in the barangays.   On Oct. 4 the City has accepted walk-in vaccinees at the Davao Oriental State University campus. A vaccination program for DORSU students was started on Oct. 16.   Officials have hoped that students would become ambassadors for the vaccine that can help convince people to come out and be vaccinated.   Mati City is targeting to fully vaccinate 40% of its population by December this year. LGU, private sector links up to vaccinate Davao City’s tourism workers

D AVAO CITY- The City Government of Davao and private tourism stakeholders has partnered to vaccinate the workforce of various tourism, tourism-related establishments in Davao City. “As of now we are targeting 5,000 vaccinees from the tourism sector,” said Cherry Faye B. Al-ag, president-elect of the Davao Tourism Association (DATA) a private sector group which represents the various stakeholders of the region’s tourism industry. Al-ag said the vaccination of the tourism workers was born from the city government’s efforts to seek the help of the private sector to fast-track the vaccination of its residents. She said various companies in the sector has joined hands to make the vaccination program into a reality.
