LGUs prepare for the 3-day Bayanihan Bakunahan




DAVAO CITY, November 23 (PIA) – Following the advisory issued by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for local government units to join and support the Bayanihan Bakunahan on November 29 to December 1, the LGUs in Davao Region are now preparing for the actual conduct of the nationwide vaccination event.


 “Ongoing na ang mga meetings sa different LGUs in preparation for the event. They are now working on the logistics, their target number of vaccinees, how to go about with the vaccination, and also how to get volunteers,” DILG XI Regional Director Alex Roldan said.


Bayanihan Bakunahan is a collaboration effort of the government together with various communities and organizations for National Vaccination Day, a vaccination drive aimed to jab 5 million per day on November 29, 30 and December 1.


The DILG committed its contact tracers together with barangay officials to look for the unvaccinated individuals in every barangay.


Director Roldan shared that looking for these unvaccinated in crucial for the success of the 3-day activity and for the country to achieve herd immunity as scheduled.


After looking for these unvaccinated individuals, community influencers will then be tapped to engage with these people and convince them to get vaccinated.


Davao City targets to exceed 147,313 jabs for the 3 days; Davao de Oro with 139,540 jabs, Davao del Norte with 168,704; Davao del Sur with 134,886; Davao Occidental with 66,744; and Davao Oriental with 96,744 jabs.


There will be a kick-off activity in every province in Davao Region on November 29. The kick off activities will be staged in Tarragona, Davao Oriental; Talaingod, Davao del Norte; Pantukan, Davao de Oro; Sulop, Davao del Sur; Saranggani, Davao Occidental; and People’s Park in Davao City.


DOH XI focal on vaccination Dr. Janis Olavides said that the 3-day Bayanihan Bakunahan is expected to ramp up the vaccination drive in Davao Region. Current data she presented is that region-wide more than 50% of the target population in the region have received their first dose. DOH XI hires more nurses, doctors

DAVAO CITY, September 6 (PIA) – The Department of Health XI bared its emergency hiring for nurses and doctors following the need to augment the personnel requirement of COVID19 hospitals from all over the region. The head of the DOH XI Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Dr. Rachel Pasion, in today’s DOH Virtual Presser reported that in Davao City alone combining both the COVID19 hospitals and the private hospitals have utilized 674 COVID19 beds out of the 830 beds or 79.4 utilization rate. This brings the region’s critical care utilization at a high risk level. The Southern Philippine Medical Center, in the past few days, released an advisory informing the public that it has been experiencing an unusually high volume of patients needing admission for COVID19. Mati City releases new tricycle fare guidelines

DAVAO ORIENTAL, Apr. 6 (PIA) -- The City Government of Mati has issued a new set of tricycle fare guidelines due to the increase in gasoline prices over the past weeks.   Under the City Ordinance No. 527 Series of 2022 or the "Ordinance Imposing the Regulation of Fare and Motorized  Tricycle-for-Hire in the City of Mati," the minimum fares are peg on the prevailing fuel prices. If the gasoline prices would hover at P40.00 to P49.99 per liter the minimum fare would be pegged at P9.00. If fuel prices are at P50.00 to P69.99/liter, minimum fare would be at P12.00 The current minimum fare is now P14.00 as the price of gasoline is between P70.00 to P89.99 per liter.   If the gasoline increase would go from P90.00 to P99.00/liter, the minimum fare will be P15.00. The price of gasoline is not the only indicator of the passenger's fare.
