DAVAO CITY, April 13 (PIA)- The first batch of Premium Taxis (10 units) have started to ply their routes in Davao City after its launch on April 8. Each Premium Taxis is equipped with modern features such as free internet access to passengers, on-board navigation system (GPS) or mobile-based application, a dashboard and occupancy cameras with continuous recording of the past 24 hours of operation, and automatic fare collection through cashless cards. This is in accordance to Land Transportation Franchising & Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Memorandum Circular (MC) 2019-032 or otherwise known as the Taxi Modernization Program. To date, Cymae Transpo OPC is the only Premium Taxi Franchise awardee in Davao Region. The company provided the first 10 of the 30 minimum taxi units under the LTFRB Memorandum Circular.
