DAVAO CITY, Jan. 13 (PIA)--- The Philippine Information Agency XI was tapped by the Mindanao Institute of Journalism to provide input in a session on government communication for information officers of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Setting the topic, “Level Up: Enhancing the Performance of Information Officers in Communication Work,” the session was organized by the Mindanao Institute of Journalism (MIJ) in cooperation with The Asia Foundation and Government of United Kingdom. PIA XI discussed the legal basis of creating public information offices in local government units (LGUs), the Constitutional significance of communication and information in nation-building, and the primary roles of government information officers as “government communicators”. Held from January 12 to 14 in Davao City, MIJ brings as speakers Carolyn Arguillas, editor-in-chief of MindaNews; Cecille Rodriguez of the Ateneo de Davao University; Vina Araneta, producer of PTV Minda
