DAVAO ORIENTAL, Dec. 13 (PIA) -- The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental was awarded the Gold Performance Award by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for its efforts against drug abuse in the province. During the 2021 National Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance Award held virtually on December 10, 2021, DILG conferred the said award to the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental for its 2019 and 2020 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) performance audited earlier this year. Few of the programs initiated by the provincial government of Davao Oriental are the Lihok Nagkahiusang Lumulupyo Kontra Droga (United Residents' Actions Against Illegal Drugs), Community-Based Rehabilitation Programs, Aftercare Programs, the establishment of the first provincial-run drug reformation center namely Balay Silangan: Bagong Bahay Para sa Bagong Buhay , and Project Tulay.
