Davao City to abide IATF call on quarantine status- Mayor Sara

DAVAO CITY, July 12 (PIA)—Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio revealed it is up to the Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 to declare the new quarantine classification of the city come July 15, 2021 given that it has more parameters to look into.    Speaking at the Davao City Disaster Radio, she said she will abide with the decision of the IATF if it finds enough reason to ease the quarantine status of the city.   Duterte-Carpio stressed that regardless of variants, minimum health protocols, washing of hands with soap, water and alcohol, social distancing and vaccination must be strictly followed in the city because the infection still comes from the same virus.    Duterte-Carpio noticed hesitancy in the vaccination among Indigenous Peoples being the first to receive the jab as indigents.    She said that as a proper protocol, they first coordinated with the tribal leaders who will explain the need for vaccination to their members.    Duterte-Carpio observed many IPs prefer to see first if their

Davao City excluded from relaxing of interzonal travels- CTOO

DAVAO CITY, July 9 (PIA)—The City Tourism Office today pointed out that Davao City is excluded in allowing interzonal travels as ordered by the Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 resolution No. 124-B as it remains under the modified enhance community quarantine classification.   The IATF 124-B resolution released on July 2, 2021, allows interzonal travels from general community quarantine to modified general community quarantine areas and vice versa for fully vaccinated persons.   Generose Tecson, city tourism officer underscored that even the city’s quarantine classification is placed under general community quarantine, the city cannot adhere interzonal travel because of presence of the city ordinance that requires test before travel.   She said this ordinance has to be amended first, before allowing interzonal travel for persons who are fully vaccinated.    Tecson told the people who want to travel to peer on the guidelines of the accepting local government unit befo

Zero tax on selling gold at BSP

DAVAO DE ORO, July 7 (PIA) - - Gold sold to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is tax-free. Acting Director Jane Ann Gonzales of BSP Davao encouraged gold miners and traders in Davao de Oro to sell to them their gold produce as it will be exempted from tax, based on Republic Act 11256. During an interview in the State of the Province radio program over Z Radio on July 5, 2021, Director Gonzales emphasized that the act was enforced last 2019; however, only a few might have known of it.  Gonzales said that from 2011 to 2019, two percent excise tax and five percent withholding tax were deducted to the gold seller’s income. “Mao na katong 2011 to 2019, ninghinay gyud ang pagdala og gold dinhi sa atoa,” she said. In the simple surrender ceremony on Monday, July 5, dubbed as “Pag-uli: Acceptance Ceremony of Returning Rebels,” Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang warmly welcomed the former insurgents as he awarded each of them  P100,000 cash assistance. Six tipsters and negotiators, on the other hand, who facilitated their surrender have received P50,000 each. A total of P1 million was awarded during yesterday’s ceremony. 2020-2021 school year to end July 10

Gov’t does not impose no vaccine, no work policy- PIA DG

Mon Cualoping in an interview with Energy FM 91.1 Digos DIGOS CITY, July 6 (PIA) – Director General Ramon Cualoping III of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) has emphasized that the government does not impose the “no vaccine, no work” and “no vaccine, no travel” policies.   Cualoping clarified this concern raised by a resident of Davao del Sur during a live radio interview on Energy FM Digos over the weekend.   The PIA Undersecretary also stressed that there is no policy that getting vaccinated is mandatory to all.   “Walang polisiya ang gobyerno sa ilalim ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na mandatory ang bakuna sa lahat. Kasi human right yan. It is guaranteed and enshrined in the Constitution.
