 Gains, challenges in vaccination tackled in Dagyaw 2021

DAVAO CITY, November 18 (PIA) - A pool of experts gathered to discuss in the Dagyaw 2021: Virtual Town Hall Meeting the present situation of the vaccination roll-out in Davao Region and the experiences of each in taking the path to herd immunity. Dagyaw 2021 is a series of open dialogues that aim to clarify government programs that affect local communities and gives a platform to regular citizens to raise local concerns to the government. It is a project of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), and civic society organizations. For violating COVID-19 protocols, four food stalls in Mati City given citation tickets

DAVAO CITY, Oct. 19 (PIA)- Four food stalls located in Dahican Beach in Mati City, Davao Oriental were given citation tickets for violating minimum public health standards during a gathering held on Oct. 16.   The violations of these food stalls were discovered on a video posted on Facebook. In the video customers who are attending the grand opening of the Shrimparty food stall owned by a certain Johan Calderon were not following rules on social distancing and were not wearing face masks.   The gathering also had no corresponding permit from the Mati Incident Management Team and also had no business permit from the City Government.   The Mati City police went to the place the following day (Oct. 17) and issued the citation ticket to Shrimparty Food Stall. IATF places DavOcc on Alert Level 4; Davao City,DavNor on Alert 3

The province of Davao Occidental was categorized under Alert Level 4 by the IATF DAVAO CITY, October 18 (PIA) – The Department of Health XI announced in today’s virtual presser that Davao Occidental was categorized by the Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) under Alert Level 4; Davao City and Davao del Norte on Alert Level 3 while Davao de Oro , Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental are placed on Alert Level 2. 18 public schools in Davao Region included for pilot face-to-face classes

DAVAO CITY, Sept. 22 (PIA) - Eighteen public schools in Davao region will be included in the pilot face-to-face classes as recently approved by President Rodrigo Roa-Duterte. The Department of Education XI spokesperson Jenelito Atillo confirmed this thru the One Davao Virtual Presser that 18 public schools in Davao Region have already been identified and included in the 100 schools identified nationwide for pilot face-to-face classes. The pilot implementation of limited face-to-face classes will give the government a ground experience on the operationalization and effectiveness of the protocols and contingency measures should there be cases of exposure or infection. SECRETARY ANDANAR: NO OVERPRICING, NO CORRUPTION IN DOH PROCUREMENT

MANILA - Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar on Thursday reiterated that there was no fraudulent conduct in the government's purchase of medical supplies in the most expeditious manner, as he cited the Commission on Audit’s clarification on flagging the Department of Health. During a hearing by the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, COA Chairman Michael Aguinaldo said that there was no incident of overpricing, but instead the flagging was due to inventory management through the transfer of funds, as it did not have a memorandum of agreement and supporting document such as the liquidation of pending procurement. DOH transferred PHP42.4 billion worth of funds to PS-DBM for the procurement of COVID-19 supplies. DOH XI hires more nurses, doctors

DAVAO CITY, September 6 (PIA) – The Department of Health XI bared its emergency hiring for nurses and doctors following the need to augment the personnel requirement of COVID19 hospitals from all over the region. The head of the DOH XI Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Dr. Rachel Pasion, in today’s DOH Virtual Presser reported that in Davao City alone combining both the COVID19 hospitals and the private hospitals have utilized 674 COVID19 beds out of the 830 beds or 79.4 utilization rate. This brings the region’s critical care utilization at a high risk level. The Southern Philippine Medical Center, in the past few days, released an advisory informing the public that it has been experiencing an unusually high volume of patients needing admission for COVID19. DavNor cities enforce COVID19 policies

DAVAO DEL NORTE, June 22 (PIA) — Tagum City and Panabo City are making efforts to enforce the policies amidst the province’s General Community Quarantine (GCQ) status.    In Tagum, the City Economic Enterprises Office leads the inspection of frontline services and establishments to make sure that the health protocols are implemented.    Through their operation called “OPLAN DAKOP”, health protocol violators in the Economic Enterprises such as the Public Market, Terminal, Livestock and Trade Center are issued with a citation ticket.    Those issued with the ticket will have to pay P540 to the City Treasurer’s Office within 7 days or face a legal case filed against them.    Among the most common violations found is the failure to wear or improper wearing of facemasks.    Similarly, in Panabo City, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Inspection Team targets the Panabo Public Premium Market, 3’F Marketing, and other establishments.    As well, the IATF Inspection Team constantly warns tricy
