DAVAO DEL NORTE, June 22 (PIA) — Tagum City and Panabo City are making efforts to enforce the policies amidst the province’s General Community Quarantine (GCQ) status.
In Tagum, the City Economic Enterprises Office leads the inspection of frontline services and establishments to make sure that the health protocols are implemented.
Through their operation called “OPLAN DAKOP”, health protocol violators in the Economic Enterprises such as the Public Market, Terminal, Livestock and Trade Center are issued with a citation ticket.
Those issued with the ticket will have to pay P540 to the City Treasurer’s Office within 7 days or face a legal case filed against them.
Among the most common violations found is the failure to wear or improper wearing of facemasks.
Similarly, in Panabo City, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Inspection Team targets the Panabo Public Premium Market, 3’F Marketing, and other establishments.
As well, the IATF Inspection Team constantly warns tricycle and motor drivers to install barriers to avoid physical contact with the passengers.
“We really need to follow the physical distancing, wearing of facemask and face shield specially when we are in public places,”Traffic Management Unit (TMU) Team Leader Alvin Ybañez says.
Although Panabo City remains strict on the establishments’ implementation of the health protocols, City Mayor Jose Relampagos has recently issued Executive Order No. 38 series of 2021, allowing operational capacity of restaurants and food establishments under the current GCQ.
With this, all cafeterias and restaurants are allowed 30% capacity of outside and inside dine-in services. (Jan Vincent Leuterio/PIA-XI)
