Online concert, short film festival on Davao Pasko Fiesta

Gigi de Lana and the Gigi Vibes band on Davao Pasko Fiesta DAVAO CITY- An online concert featuring a fast-rising singing star and a family-themed short film festival are among the exciting activities of the Davao Paskonline Fiesta, the online celebration of the 2021 Davao Fiesta. On Dec. 22 at 6:00 p.m. Gigi de Lana along with the band GiGi Vibes will headline the Davao Paskonsyerto sponsored by PLDT Home and Smart.   The online concert will be streamed at the Davao Pasko Fiesta Facebook page. Gigi de Lana was the grand finalist of the first season of It’s Showtime Tawag ng Tanghalan in 2016. Her meteoric rise to stardom was helped greatly by her renditions of popular hit songs shown on her You Tube channel that she shares with her band Gigi Vibes and which currently has about 576,000 followers and some of her video having millions of views. Davao City lights up for Christmas

DAVAO CITY- Several strategic locations in Davao City were lit up with Christmas lights as part of the annual Davao Pasko Fiesta. Davao City Vice-Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte led the Christmas Lighting Ceremony on the early evening of Friday (Dec. 3) at the second floor hallway of the City Hall. The ceremonial switching lighted up the City Hall, the adjacent Quezon Park, Rizal Park, Centennial Park, the Sangguniang Panglungsod Building, the Davao City Water District Pipe bridge along Governor Generoso Bridge in Bankerohan and the Unity Arch and pocket park in Davao City’s Chinatown District. “As we celebrate the Christmas Season, we remind everyone to be mindful of our celebrations and gatherings at home during the holidays. And thru this platform of films we want to inspire Dabawenyos families with the values presented in the curated films. P255,000 worth of cash prizes in Davao Pasko Fiesta

Three grand winners will each receive P25,000 in the Star ng Pasko: Parol ng Pamilyang Dabawenyo Competition. The contest involves family members making their Parol or Christmas Star. Davao Pasko Fiesta Festival Director Gatchi Gatchalian, the composer of the Pasko Fiesta jingle   DAVAO CITY, Nov. 5 (PIA)- This year’s Davao Pasko Fiesta recently launched its Christmas jingle aimed at promoting the online edition of the annual Christmas festival thru the message instilled by the song’s lyrics. “The song is about encouraging Dabawenyo families to celebrate Christmas this year together at home and even at home we can do a lot of things together as a family,” says Renato “Gatchi” Gatchalian the festival director of the Davao Pasko Fiesta and also the jingle composer. DAVAO CITY, Nov. 3 (PIA)- The City Government of Davao is launching the virtual Davao Pasko Fiesta dubbed as DAVAO PASKOnline FIESTA. The Pasko Fiesta is an annual event of the City Government in partnership with the private sector as a means of celebrating the Filipino tradition during the Holiday Season. In the past, before the pandemic, the Pasko Fiesta was highlighted by the thematic Christmas display at the City Hall and Rizal Park alongside various activities such as free concerts, gift-giving, Christmas fairs, torotot (party horn) New Year’s celebration among many face-to-face events. The COVID-19 pandemic gave way to a re-conceptualized Davao Pasko Fiesta where most of the events will be held online.
