P255,000 worth of cash prizes in Davao Pasko Fiesta

DAVAO CITY, Nov. 10 (PIA)- A total amount of P255,000 cash prizes will be given to winners of the different online contests in the 2021 Davao Pasko Fiesta.


Three grand winners will each receive P25,000 in the Star ng Pasko: Parol ng Pamilyang Dabawenyo Competition. The contest involves family members making their Parol or Christmas Star.


Three grand winners will each receive P20,000 in the Family Tiktok Ngayong Pasko: Online Family Dance Competition.  Participating families will create 30-60 seconder Tiktok video dancing to a Christmas Song or the official theme song of the Davao Pasko Fiesta.


The Himig ng Paskong Dabawenyo: Online Family Caroling Competition will have three grand winners with each winner receiving P20,000. The contest involves  the family singing a Christmas song or Christmas medley and a portion of the official Davao Pasko Fiesta jingle.


Three family grand winners will each receive P10,000 for the Paskong Litrato ng Pamilyang Dabawenyo: A Family Christmas Photo Contest. Participating families will submit a creative photo of themselves taken at home.


Three grand winners will receive P10,000 each in the Christmas Cards of Hope: The Davao Pasko Fiesta Family Christmas Card Making Competition. This activity is a Christmas card making contest involving families.


“We are really encouraging the families to participate in our many activities and contests this is for them,” Davao Pasko Fiesta Festival Director Renato Gatchalian said during the virtual media launch held on November 3.


Gatchalian said families who would want to join the contests will be guided by the Pasko Seryes which are a series of online shows where resource persons will teach families how to make Christmas cards, parol, and take photos.


Qualified to join the contests are a family of at least four members, who are Davao-born or residents of Davao City for at least one year from competition date. Families are required to submit resident certificates.

DOH XI hires more nurses, doctors

DAVAO CITY, September 6 (PIA) – The Department of Health XI bared its emergency hiring for nurses and doctors following the need to augment the personnel requirement of COVID19 hospitals from all over the region. The head of the DOH XI Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Dr. Rachel Pasion, in today’s DOH Virtual Presser reported that in Davao City alone combining both the COVID19 hospitals and the private hospitals have utilized 674 COVID19 beds out of the 830 beds or 79.4 utilization rate. This brings the region’s critical care utilization at a high risk level. The Southern Philippine Medical Center, in the past few days, released an advisory informing the public that it has been experiencing an unusually high volume of patients needing admission for COVID19. Mati City releases new tricycle fare guidelines

DAVAO ORIENTAL, Apr. 6 (PIA) -- The City Government of Mati has issued a new set of tricycle fare guidelines due to the increase in gasoline prices over the past weeks.   Under the City Ordinance No. 527 Series of 2022 or the "Ordinance Imposing the Regulation of Fare and Motorized  Tricycle-for-Hire in the City of Mati," the minimum fares are peg on the prevailing fuel prices. If the gasoline prices would hover at P40.00 to P49.99 per liter the minimum fare would be pegged at P9.00. If fuel prices are at P50.00 to P69.99/liter, minimum fare would be at P12.00 The current minimum fare is now P14.00 as the price of gasoline is between P70.00 to P89.99 per liter.   If the gasoline increase would go from P90.00 to P99.00/liter, the minimum fare will be P15.00. The price of gasoline is not the only indicator of the passenger's fare.
