DAVAO CITY, Oct. 22 (PIA)- The City of Mati in Davao Oriental is bringing its COVID-19 vaccination program to purok clusters and households.
Today Friday (Oct. 22) the Mati City Health Office has started its house-to-house vaccination for senior citizens and people with comorbidities. This will complement the ongoing vaccinations at the designated vaccination sites and those scheduled in the barangays.
On Oct. 4 the City has accepted walk-in vaccinees at the Davao Oriental State University campus. A vaccination program for DORSU students was started on Oct. 16.
Officials have hoped that students would become ambassadors for the vaccine that can help convince people to come out and be vaccinated.
Mati City is targeting to fully vaccinate 40% of its population by December this year. In the recent data it has vaccinated over 32,000 of its residents or a vaccination ratio of about 30% of its population.
Based on the National Vaccination Dashboard, the City of Mati has the second highest vaccination ratio in Davao Region next to Davao City which has vaccinated over 66% of its population. (PIA/RG Alama)
