DAVAO CITY, April 25 (PIA) – The Duterte Legacy Caravan is set to be held in Davao City on April 29 (Friday) at the Toril Gym.
The caravan is aimed at informing the public about the government programs, policies, and efforts to bring about real change by showcasing real stories from the beneficiaries of the Duterte administration’s landmark programs as well as deliver basic services of various government agencies during the caravan.
“ This is the first Duterte Legacy in Davao City but we have done series of community outreach activities or mini caravans all over the Davao Region as implemented by the Police Regional Office and supported by the different national and local government units,” said PCol. Narciso Bayugo of the PRO XI.
He explained that following the launching of the Duterte Legacy held in Davao del Norte, many caravans done through outreach activities followed totaling to 1,306 activities benefiting 460,899 individuals, with an estimated amount of P6.7 million worth of basic services provided to the people.
Some of the services provided during these caravans include issuance of national police clearance, distribution of vegetable seeds, farmers’ technical consultation, annual confirmation of pensioner, provision of scholarship, medical and dental mission, and many more.
For this upcoming caravan in Davao City, more national government agencies have committed to join and showcase their mandate and provide basic services.
The Department of Health will be around to provide medical consultation and distribute Kalinga Kits; the National Commission of Indigenous People will provide free medical and legal consultation; the Philippine Statistics Authority will bring in Philippine ID System Registration; the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority will have a skills demo on Agricultural Drone Level II and Bartending NCII.
The Duterte Legacy Caravan is consistent with the Executive Order 137 which institutionalized the Aid and Humanitarian Operations Nationwide Convergence Program inorder to accelerate and harmonize aid and humanitarian assistance by the National Government Agencies to the most affected and vulnerable sectors and communities.
