Vax of 5-11 years old to start soon


DAVAO CITY, Jan. 26 (PIA) - Members of the Regional Vaccination Operation Center (RVOC) in Davao Region are now preparing for the rollout of the COVID19 vaccination of the pediatric population 5 to 11 years old.


This was discussed in the weekly RVOC meeting where the draft guidelines was tackled as part of the preparation of the vaccination for this new priority group.


During the Talk to the People held last Monday (January 25), National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID19 chief implementer Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr announced that the government is set to rollout the COVID19 vaccination for five to 11 years old on February 4.


In the draft guidelines, the administration for this new priority group will still be in a phased approach. The Phase 1 will cover pilot sites in the National Capital Region (NCR) while the Phase 2 will be the expansion in vaccination sites in NCR and pilot sites in other regions.


The rollout will still be done in designated vaccination sites with vaccination teams and designated vaccination days to include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.


A combination of hospital-based and LGU-based vaccination sites will be tapped for this new priority group.


Leading towards the target vaccination rollout, the DOH will have capacity building of vaccination teams; town hall meetings targeted to raise the awareness of the public is set from January 24 to 28 along with the vaccination site preparation. Pilipinas Shell to build import facility in Sta. Cruz, DavSur

DAVAO CITY, April 22-   Petroleum giant Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation will be constructing its Darong Import Facility in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. When completed it will be the third largest import facility in the country after the Shell Import Facility Tabangao in Batangas and the North Mindanao Import Facility in Cagayan de Oro. The Darong Import Facility has a rated capacity of 67-million liters of petroleum products.   The import facility will help and promote business continuity and stability in the area by providing needed fuel resources for mobility during storms, floods and other calamities. LTO to public: Do not patronize colorum vehicles

  NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro (PIA) - An official of the Land Transportation Office enjoined the public for the eradication of colorum vehicles plying the streets in Davao region. During the second episode of Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas in Davao City, LTO XI Regional Director Eleanor Calderon urged the public not to patronize colorum vehicles to avoid any road safety risk and to also complement their enforcement operations against these violators. “If we stop patronizing these (colorum vehicles), they will just die a natural death; mawala ra na sila sa kalsad a (they will just vanish in our roads),” Calderon said. The traffic official emphasized that LTO XI has apprehended a total of 115 colorum vehicles from January to April 2024. Calderon also provided tips to identify colorum vehicles.
