DOH XI opens vaccination for 12-17 yrs old with comorbidities

DAVAO, Oct 27 (PIA) - Starting October 29, 2021, children aged 12-17 with comorbidities may get vaccinated in identified hospitals in Davao Region. The Department of Health XI (DOH XI) in a press release called on children under Pediatric A3 or those 12 to 17 years old with comorbidities to have themselves scheduled for vaccination by securing first a medical certificate detailing the child’s comorbidity, valid ID of the child and the parent or guardian, and any proof of filiation like the birth certificate. The hospitals identified to cater vaccination of the Pediatric A3 group are the following: Southern Philippines Medical  Center, Metro Davao Medical and Research Center, and the Seamen's Hospital in R. Floods hit Davao City during Monday evening heavy rains

Flooding in Laverna Hills, photo by Leah Roluna DAVAO CITY, Oct. 26 (PIA)- Heavy downpour on Monday (Oct. 25) evening caused flooding in several parts of Davao City.   Also swollen rivers prompted the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) to issue pre-emptive evacuation among the residents living near rivers particularly along Matina River.   Matina River along Barangay Matina Pangi was monitored at a Critical Level and overflowing affecting KM 8.5 and KM 9 in Matina Pangi.   At around 8:40 p.m. of October 25 Citywide and Barangay sirens  located in Barangays Matina Aplaya, Matina Crossing, and Matina Pangi were triggered where residents were ordered to folllow pre-emptive evacuation and proceed to designated evacuation areas.   Laverna Hills Subdivision in Barangay Cabantian also experienced deep flooding with floodwaters nearly reaching the roofs of the houses in the subdivision.   According to Barangay Cabantian Captain Nilo Cabiles an estimated 250 households

ADDU satellite voter reg site gets 807 registrants

Retired basketball star Peter Jun Simon registers as a voter at the ADDU satellite registration site DAVAO CITY, Oct. 26 (PIA)- The satellite voter registration site at the Ateneo de Davao University had about 807 registrants coming from the three districts in Davao City.   The one-day voters registration held Saturday (Oct  23) was organized in response to the request of the Mindanao Consortium of Ateneos (MCA) or the Ateneo schools in Mindanao to the Commission of Elections to open more satellite registration centers for voters who would want to register amid the October 30 deadline. DDO to start A3 Pediatrics Vaccination on Oct 29

DAVAO CITY -  The province of Davao de Oro will start the vaccination of children aged 12 to 17 years old with comorbidities on October 29, 2021. Provincial Vaccination In charge and Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Mary Cyrel Pasaol disclosed that the vaccination for this vulnerable group will be done at the four Davao de Oro Provincial Hospitals. “Hospital base ni ang pagbakuna kay unang-una, naa tay mga medical specialists and pediatricians sa atong mga hospitals; and ikaduha, since ang kaning age group kay ginaconsider as vulnerable group, ” Dr. Pasaol said. Davao City liquor ban now 1 AM to 8 AM

DAVAO CITY Oct. 25 (PIA)- The City Government of Davao has adjusted the liquor ban to 1:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. instead of the 24-hour ban on alcoholic drinks. Executive Order 59 Series of 2021 however states that consumption of alcohol shall only be on private properties. Under of SECTION 2 of EO 59 the following are not allowed: * The serving of liquor for consumption in bars, restaurants, sari-sari stores, palengke (wet market), videoke, and other business establishments;  
 * Drinking liquor in all public places including but not limited to streets, alleys, pathways, and outside of gates.  
   The order shall take effect on October 26 to January 15, 2022. The new guidelines repeals  EO 32 which extended the 24-hour liquor ban in the City from August 3, 2021 to December 31, 2021. Mati City begins house-to-house vax

Household vaccination in Mati City (photo by Mati CIO) DAVAO CITY, Oct. 22 (PIA)- The City of Mati in Davao Oriental is bringing its COVID-19 vaccination program to purok clusters and households.   Today Friday (Oct. 22) the Mati City Health Office has started its house-to-house vaccination for senior citizens and people with comorbidities. This will complement the ongoing vaccinations at the designated vaccination sites and those scheduled in the barangays.   On Oct. 4 the City has accepted walk-in vaccinees at the Davao Oriental State University campus. A vaccination program for DORSU students was started on Oct. 16.   Officials have hoped that students would become ambassadors for the vaccine that can help convince people to come out and be vaccinated.   Mati City is targeting to fully vaccinate 40% of its population by December this year.
