Cacao growers cite VP-elect Inday Sara's legacy

DAVAO CITY, May 27 (PIA)- Cacao Industry Development Association of Mindanao (CIDAMI) president Val Turtur cited outgoing Davao City Mayor and Vice President-elect Sara "Inday" Duterte in the growth of the cacao industry in Davao City. “The City Government program thru Mayor Inday, we were given free cacao seedlings at the same time they continued to provide trainings they also gave equipment and machines for chocolate processors,” Turtur said. With tourism reopening IGaCoS ensures health, security protocols are followed

DOH XI ensures heightened protocols against Omicron subvariant

DAVAO CITY, May 26 (PIA) - With reported local transmission of the Omicron subvariant BA.2.12.1 in the National Capital Region, Western Visayas, and Puerto Princesa, the Department of Health XI cascaded heightened protocols. DOH XI Dr. Rachel Pasion briefed the members of the Regional Vaccination Operations Center (RVOC) XI that the country now implements a strengthened four-door strategy: through continuous global scanning for emerging variants; through strict implementation of border protocols; prioritizing the use of RT-PCR in testing and in symptomatics and their close contacts; and religiously sending positive samples for sequencing as soon as possible. Nickel mining site in Mati outside of protected areas

MATI CITY, DAVAO ORIENTAL- The nickel mining site of the Austral-Asia link Mining Corporation and Hallmark Mining Corporation is located outside of the Mt. Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary and the Pujada Bay Seascape and Landscape. In a statement, the local government unit of Mati City said that the mining area is “four kilometers away from the boundary of the Pujada Bay Seascape which is a protected area and is also outside the Mt. Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary which is a Unesco-heritage site.” The mining site located in Barangay Macambol in Mati City comprises a total area measuring 17,215.49 hectares. DepEd issues guidelines for F2F graduation, recognition rites

DAVAO City, May 24 (PIA)—An official of the Department of Education XI revealed the issuance Deped-043 Series of 2022 or guidelines by the DepEd-Central Office for the conduct of the end of school year rites like the face-to-face graduation, moving up and recognition ceremonies for its pupils and students. DAVAO DEL NORTE, May 24 (PIA)— Indigenous Peoples Community Driven Development (IP CDD) projects implemented in Davao del Norte thru KALAHI CIDSS PAMANA of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) are seen accomplished and benefiting indigenous peoples (IPs).   The Municipal Government of San Isidro recently published the turnover ceremony of two barangay isolation units done on the same day of May 13, 2022 in barangays Datu Balong and Monte Dujali.   With a project cost of P606,853.75  for each of the barangay isolation unit, the projects were designed to benefit the Dibabawon Tribe in the Municipality of San Isidro, to support their Ancestral Domain Sustainable Development Protection Plan (ASDPP), and to strengthen the collaboration between the local government and the Indigenous Political Structures.   The projects were granted under the administration of Municipal Mayor Arnel H.
