Community dev’t projects seen benefitting IPs in DavNor


DAVAO DEL NORTE, May 24 (PIA)— Indigenous Peoples Community Driven Development (IP CDD) projects implemented in Davao del Norte thru KALAHI CIDSS PAMANA of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) are seen accomplished and benefiting indigenous peoples (IPs).

 

The Municipal Government of San Isidro recently published the turnover ceremony of two barangay isolation units done on the same day of May 13, 2022 in barangays Datu Balong and Monte Dujali.

 

With a project cost of P606,853.75  for each of the barangay isolation unit, the projects were designed to benefit the Dibabawon Tribe in the Municipality of San Isidro, to support their Ancestral Domain Sustainable Development Protection Plan (ASDPP), and to strengthen the collaboration between the local government and the Indigenous Political Structures.

 

The projects were granted under the administration of Municipal Mayor Arnel H. Sitoy who thanked the Dibabawon tribal leaders and the respective barangay Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives (IPMRs)  for their support to fast-track the project implementation.

 

Meanwhile, a KALAHI CIDSS PAMANA IP CDD project was recently inaugurated in the Municipality of New Corella, Davao del Norte.

 

The P1,192,180.00 Activity Center  constructed in Mangguangan Integrated School in Barangay Mambing, New  Corella was inaugurated recently within 75 days of construction in  collaboration with the administration of Municipal Mayor Jorjan “Monet” Federiso.

 

Aside from providing a wide space for students of Mangguangan Integrated School to conduct their activities, the  KALAHI CIDSS PAMANA IP CDD-funded Activity Center was designed to cater to the activities of the Mangguangan IPs.  (PIA XI/Jeanevive Duron Abangan)

More NPAs surrender in DavNor

DAVAO DEL NORTE, Nov. 23 (PIA) – More than 30 former members of the Communist Party of the Philippines - New People's Army (CPP-NPA) recently surrendered to government troops in the Province of Davao Del Norte with their firearms turned over to the 10th Infantry AGILA Division of  the Philippine Army. Parents urged to register children to Safe Davao QR before vax

DAVAO CITY, February 22—(PIA) A local vaccine czar urged parents to register first their children aged five to eleven to the SAFEDAVAO QR before they can go to vaccine sites for inoculation. Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, Vaccination Cluster head of the city bared the registration to the SAFEDAVAOQR is crucial so that their children will be integrated in the local vaccination system. She said that the vaccination for children now is on its second phase, with three vaccination sites namely San Roque Elementary School in Barrio Obrero, Vicente Hizon Elementary School at Barangay Sasa and the Almendras gym. “Children can be vaccinated on these sites, whether they are walk-ins provided they have registered at the SAFEDAVAOQR,” Villafuerte said.
