Davao City launches Bakuna Nights

D AVAO CITY, Sept. 24- (PIA)-  The City Government of Davao is set to launch Bakuna Nights, vaccination program which will be held on nighttime in a bid to vaccinate people who are not available on daytime.   In an interview at the Davao City Disaster Radio, Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of Task Force COVID-19 Davao City said they have opened Bakuna Nights on September 23.   “ Naa na tay Bakuna Nights though technically we are doing pilot testing so tan-awon nato ang reception sa mga tawo, ( we will look at the reception of the people),” Schlosser said.   The vaccination sites will be open 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the pilot area at San Roque Elementary School located in Barrio Obrero.   Schlosser said the daytime vaccination will cater to those with schedule while 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. will be open to walk-ins belonging to A4 sector.   She said the first night of the pilot testing they were able to vaccinate 588 people.   Schlosser said with the la

P4.3 B brgy projects under SBDP being implemented in Davao Region

DAVAO CITY, September 23 (PIA) – About 607 barangay projects in spread throughout 215 barangays in Davao region with a total amount of P4.3 billion under the Support to the Barangay Development Program (SBDP) have been started and are set to be completed by the end of this year or early next year. This was bared by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) during the One Davao Virtual Presser held Wednesday being tasked to handle the monitoring and evaluation of the said projects. The DILG Assistant Regional Director Abdullah Matalam explained that the said project funds emanated through the Executive Order 70 or the Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) by providing developmental government support to conflict-cleared barangays to ensure sustainability of development and finally ending insurgency in the community. 18 public schools in Davao Region included for pilot face-to-face classes

DAVAO CITY, Sept. 22 (PIA) - Eighteen public schools in Davao region will be included in the pilot face-to-face classes as recently approved by President Rodrigo Roa-Duterte. The Department of Education XI spokesperson Jenelito Atillo confirmed this thru the One Davao Virtual Presser that 18 public schools in Davao Region have already been identified and included in the 100 schools identified nationwide for pilot face-to-face classes. The pilot implementation of limited face-to-face classes will give the government a ground experience on the operationalization and effectiveness of the protocols and contingency measures should there be cases of exposure or infection. Private vax sites boost vaccination program in Davao City

DAVAO CITY- People are making their way to fourth floor of Gaisano Mall, one of the popular malls here in Davao City. The people going up are not your regular mallgoers, the fourth floor is the access way to the mall’s The Peak area which in its heyday during pre-pandemic time hosted restaurants and coffee shops.   The pandemic forced many shops to close, the mall management decided to convert these vacant spaces into a vaccination site.
