Davao City launches Bakuna Nights



DAVAO CITY, Sept. 24- (PIA)-  The City Government of Davao is set to launch Bakuna Nights, vaccination program which will be held on nighttime in a bid to vaccinate people who are not available on daytime.

 

In an interview at the Davao City Disaster Radio, Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of Task Force COVID-19 Davao City said they have opened Bakuna Nights on September 23.

 

Naa na tay Bakuna Nights though technically we are doing pilot testing so tan-awon nato ang reception sa mga tawo, ( we will look at the reception of the people),” Schlosser said.

 

The vaccination sites will be open 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the pilot area at San Roque Elementary School located in Barrio Obrero.

 

Schlosser said the daytime vaccination will cater to those with schedule while 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. will be open to walk-ins belonging to A4 sector.

 

She said the first night of the pilot testing they were able to vaccinate 588 people.

 

Schlosser said with the large number of vaccinees that were catered, this meant that there are many people who would want to be vaccinated but cannot go to the sites during daytime.

 

“With this reception I think ipadayon nato ning Bakuna Nights (We will continue this Bakuna Nights),” Schlosser added.

 

“Please bring ID and Ballpen, didto na ang registration para paspas nata ( we will hold the registration there so it would be quicker),” Schlosser said to those interested in availing the vaccines at Bakuna Nights.

 

The City is also eyeing the Almendras Gym (Davao City Recreation Center) to serve as another venue for the Bakuna Nights. (PIA/RG Alama)

More NPAs surrender in DavNor

Parents urged to register children to Safe Davao QR before vax

DAVAO CITY, February 22—(PIA) A local vaccine czar urged parents to register first their children aged five to eleven to the SAFEDAVAO QR before they can go to vaccine sites for inoculation. Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, Vaccination Cluster head of the city bared the registration to the SAFEDAVAOQR is crucial so that their children will be integrated in the local vaccination system. She said that the vaccination for children now is on its second phase, with three vaccination sites namely San Roque Elementary School in Barrio Obrero, Vicente Hizon Elementary School at Barangay Sasa and the Almendras gym. “Children can be vaccinated on these sites, whether they are walk-ins provided they have registered at the SAFEDAVAOQR,” Villafuerte said.
