DavNor cities enforce COVID19 policies

DAVAO DEL NORTE, June 22 (PIA) — Tagum City and Panabo City are making efforts to enforce the policies amidst the province’s General Community Quarantine (GCQ) status.    In Tagum, the City Economic Enterprises Office leads the inspection of frontline services and establishments to make sure that the health protocols are implemented.    Through their operation called “OPLAN DAKOP”, health protocol violators in the Economic Enterprises such as the Public Market, Terminal, Livestock and Trade Center are issued with a citation ticket.    Those issued with the ticket will have to pay P540 to the City Treasurer’s Office within 7 days or face a legal case filed against them.    Among the most common violations found is the failure to wear or improper wearing of facemasks.    Similarly, in Panabo City, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Inspection Team targets the Panabo Public Premium Market, 3’F Marketing, and other establishments.    As well, the IATF Inspection Team constantly warns tricy

Border Control Update: DDO bars entry of 190 persons in Pasian

DavNor, National Gov't Agencies meet to widen reach of ELCAC stories

DAVAO DEL NORTE, June 21 (PIA) – The Provincial Government along with National Government Agencies (NGAs) conducted a meeting on June 18 to discuss plans on how to bring Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) stories to more Filipinos. During the online meeting, 10th Infantry Division Public Affairs Office (10IDPAO) suggested that a dramatization style of content on ELCAC stories could be more appealing to the Filipino public. For this, PICKMO (Provincial Information, Communication and Knowledge Management Office) suggested that among the ways in telling these stories is through animations since it can ensure the privacy of the source subject and since both PICKMO and the Department of Education (DepEd) already have teams of animators. Davao City LGU takes cue from IATF on quarantine status

DAVAO CITY, June 21 (PIA)- Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio revealed that the city takes its cue from the Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid-19 regarding the quarantine status to be followed beyond June 30. She clarified that the City Government follows only the advice issued by the national government when it comes to quarantine classification. Duterte-Carpio suspected that the surge is due to the presence of a more infectious variant, more people outside going to work, and non-practice of the minimum public health standard inside the dwelling places. “MPHS is not practice much on the households,” she said. Talikala, PIA hold media forum on online sexual abuse, exploitation

DAVAO CITY, June 21 (PIA) – Advocacy group, Talikala, and the Philippine Information Agency Davao Region conducted on Thursday (June 17) the second of its series of media forum discussing Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (OSAE). Talikala Inc. executive director Jeanette L. Ampog bared that reporting online sexual abuse cases remained to be a challenge for the said advocacy group and even for government authorities. “While there has been reported increase in OSAE cases during the time of the pandemic but we still find it challenging on convincing people to come out and report these abuses. Lockdown lifted at PRO-XI

  DAVAO City, June 18 (PIA) -- Lockdown is already lifted at the Police Regional Office XI. Police Major Eudisan Goltiano, spokesperson of the PRO XI confirmed this information, as no one among the police assigned at the camp is COVID-19 positive. However, she said that more COVID-19 cases were noted in the provinces like 28 cases as of June 17, and 162 active cases as of June 18. Goltiano said that a total 695 cases of COVID-19 have been noted in the whole police force of Davao Region since the start of the pandemic last year. “Most of the police afflicted with COVID-19 was asymptomatic,” she said. Goltiano revealed that a total of three policemen died because of this virus. She said that civilians who have transactions at the PRO XI still have to comply with negative anti-gen test result or 72 hour-RT-PCR test result to prevent more lockdowns in the future. “We are waiting for the recommendation of our medical unit if we can relax the regulations, but for the meantime, with the
