During the online meeting, 10th Infantry Division Public Affairs Office (10IDPAO) suggested that a dramatization style of content on ELCAC stories could be more appealing to the Filipino public.
For this, PICKMO (Provincial Information, Communication and Knowledge Management Office) suggested that among the ways in telling these stories is through animations since it can ensure the privacy of the source subject and since both PICKMO and the Department of Education (DepEd) already have teams of animators.
To reach the target audience in the Indigenous People (IP) communities, it was discussed that ELCAC stories in the language easily understandable to the IPs should be created more.
With this, Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region XI said that if the Provincial Task Force (PTF-ELCAC) makes a request to PTV for a time slot dedicated to ELCAC stories, PIA XI will help elevate the request to the regional and to the national level so that the stories can be aired nationally on PTV.
As for the utilization of social media to disseminate ELCAC stories, creating a Facebook Page ran by the involved agencies dedicated solely on ELCAC content, could be beneficial as it ensures that each of the involved agencies’ content relating to ELCAC are not “drowned out” by their other types of news usually produced on their own pages.
Hosted by the Provincial Information, Communication, and Knowledge Management Office (PICKMO), the meeting was done to discuss further communication strategies that could be implemented in addition to the NTF-ELCAC’s regular holding of Press Conferences in strengthening the government’s fight against the CPP-NPA-NDF by publicity.
Other agencies present in the meeting were the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), and Eastern Mindanao Command. (Jan Vincent Leuterio/PIA-XI)
