OCD XI tells Dabawenyos to prepare for another typhoon

DAVAO CITY, Dec 21 (PIA) - The Office of Civil Defense XI (OCD XI) reported that it is now closely monitoring and preparing for the issuance of a Regional Disaster Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) memorandum on preparedness measures for another weather disturbance expected this weekend. OCD XI Chief of Operations Atty. Mark Cirunay, in his guesting over One Davao Virtual Presser, flagged the public to remain resilient, prepared, and to always heed to the call of the local government unit in dealing with potential hazards. Cirunay was referring to the low pressure area that is seen to enter the vicinity of Mindanao and may affect communities in Davao Region. DavSur LGUs bagged awards in the 9th Regional Competitiveness Summit

Davao City sends medical-rescue contingent to Bohol

DAVAO CITY, Dec. 20 (PIA)- The City Government of Davao has sent an Emergency Response Team to the Municipality of Ubay, Province of Bohol to help in the rescue and relief efforts in the aftermath of Typhoon Odette. The 106-person team came from the City Health Office, Davao City Central 911's Emergency Medical Sevices (EMS), Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), Fire Auxiliary Services (FAS), doctors from the Southern Philippines Medical Center, and social workers from City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).   The team is headed by Davao City 911 chief Emmanuel Jaldon. They departed on Sunday (Dec. 19) at the Davao International Airport. Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio was present to send-off the contingent. 2nd batch of former rebels graduate from DavSur’s Tupad Pangako

DavNor retains rank as 2nd Overall Most Competitive Province

DAVAO DEL NORTE, Dec. 15 (PIA) -- The Provincial Government of Davao Del Norte retained its place as the 2nd Overall Most Competitive Province in the entire country on the recently concluded awarding ceremony during the 9th Regional Competitiveness Summit yesterday, December 14, 2021, organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). There are 81 provinces in the country which are included in the roll of candidates for competitiveness ranking set by the DTI. 9 Magsaysay barangays declared drug-cleared

 (Photo by LGU Magsaysay) DAVAO CITY, Dec. 16 (PIA) – The Regional Oversight Committee for Drug Clearing on Thursday (Dec. 16) declared nine barangays in the municipality of Magsaysay as drug-cleared after thorough deliberation of required documents.   The drug-cleared barangays are: New Ilocos, San Isidro, Maibo, New Opon, Kanapolo, Blocon, Malawanit, Glamang and Lower Bala.   The deliberation and declaration of the ROCDC-XI, chaired by PDEA XI Regional Director Aileen Tan Lovitos, was held on same day at the Almendras Hall of the Davao del Sur Coliseum in Digos City.   On its official Facebook post, the local government of Magsaysay mentioned that Brgy.
