DOLE DavNor launches Project Angel Tree

DAVAO DEL NORTE, Mar. 29 (PIA)-- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) of Davao Del Norte this afternoon (March 29) launched the "Project Angel Tree" program at the Provincial Gymnasium of Davao Del Norte to strengthen the campaign against child labor.

In her project briefing, Lalaine M. Apugan, the Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program (CLPEP) Focal of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) of Davao Del Norte said that Project Angel Tree was named after the traditional Christmas Tree as the project was supposed to be held on December last year.

"However, due to COVID-19 restrictions which was stricter at that time, the event was postponed and was held today," Apugan added.

Instead of the Christmas Tree, the term Angel Tree was used as "angel" represents the donors and partner establishments as sponsors for the project.

Some children from the cities and municipalities of Davao Del Norte graced the event escorted by the personnel of Public Employment Services Office (PESO) coming from each local government unit.

The kids enjoyed the program and events prepared by DOLE and they also received food packs, gadgets, slippers, and hygiene kits from the sponsors of the event. (PIA XI / Ezri Coda Jr.)

DOH XI hires more nurses, doctors

DAVAO CITY, September 6 (PIA) – The Department of Health XI bared its emergency hiring for nurses and doctors following the need to augment the personnel requirement of COVID19 hospitals from all over the region. Completed projects turned over to far-flung villages in DavSur

DAVAO CITY, Dec. 24 (PIA) – The provincial government of Davao del Sur has intensified its turnover of completed projects to provide convenience to the intended beneficiaries in the far-flung areas in the province. Among the recently turned over was the covered space with stage worth P1,186,886.58 for the Sibulan National High School in the remote barangay of Sibulan in the municipality of Sta. Cruz. An electrification project with 150-watt solar lights was also provided for the benefit of the barangay residents.
