Bayanihan Bakunahan in Mesaoy, New Corella town

DAVAO DEL NORTE, Dec. 7 (PIA) -- The Provincial Government of Davao Del Norte has achieved 80% of its target population for vaccination during the three-day National Vaccination Days, said Davao Del Norte Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Alfredo Lacerona.

Meanwhile, the City of Tagum vaccinated a total of 37,547 according to Tagum City Health Officer, Dr. Arnel Florendo.

On the latest episode of Kapihan sa DavNor, Dr. Lacerona and Dr. Florendo reported the achievements of the three-day National Vaccination Days dubbed as "Bayanihan Bakunahan" in their respective jurisdictions.

"Sa una nga adlaw niabot ug 36,970, taas gihapon ni sya no kumpara sa ubang probinsya. Sa ikaduha nga adlaw naa pod tay 34. 114 ug sa ikatulo nga adlaw niabot ta ug 37, 775 nga mutotal ug 108, 859 or almost 80% sa atong giset nga target,"(On the first day it reached 36,970, which is still high compared to other provinces. On the second day we had 34, 114 and on the third day we reached 37, 775 totaling 108, 859 or almost 80% of our set target), Dr. Lacerona stated.

"Sa Tagum City nga figure, sa una namong adlaw, kay nagtarget man mi ug 13, 850 daily, sa November 29, aduna tay 12, 543, sa November 30 murag nagbaba ta gamay, niabot tag 11,698. Abi nakog mubaba ta pagka December 1 kay niubos man atung trend sa 2 days but to my surprise, nikabat ug 13,306. Kani sya nga accomplishment para sa amoa very very high ni," (Because we were aiming for 13, 850 everyday in Tagum City, we got 12, 543 on November 29. On November 30, we looked to drop a little, and we achieved 11,698. I expected us to fall on December 1st, since our trend had declined in two days, but to my astonishment, it rose to 13,306. This is a significant achievement for us), said Dr. Florendo.

Dr. Florendo also highlighted the total population in Tagum City which already received the first dose.

"In fact sa Tagum City alone, ang nakafirst dose na sa Tagum City karon niabot na ug 74.9% kung wala ko nagkamali, unya kana sila eventually mag second dose man gyud na sila, ma saturate gyud natu ang tibook Tagum City," (In fact, if I'm not mistaken, the citizens of Tagum City who received the first dose have already reached 74.9 percent, and they will soon receive the second dose, allowing us to saturate the entire Tagum City), Dr. Florende's words post.

They also emphasized that vaccinating residents not residing in Tagum City and Davao Del Norte but are working there is beneficial to the city and the province.

"It will be beneficial sa Tagum City nga ang mga dili taga-Tagum City bakunahan namog apil," (It will be beneficial to Tagum City that non-Tagum City residents will be vaccinated by us), Dr. Florendo's statement reads.

"Wala tay borders in vaccination kay kung kinsa tung willing ato gyud ng ginadawat kay kita man gihapon nag-uban dinhing lugara, so ngano mang atong babagan nga di ka pwede kay di ka taga-Tagum," (We don't recognized any border in vaccination. Whoever is willing, we will accept them because we share the same place and why should we hinder them from getting their vaccines?), Dr. Lacerona explained.

Dr. Lacerona hoped that people will get their second doses for their full protection and a merrier holiday.

"Hinaot unta pod nga katong nagsuporta nato sa first round, magsuporta gihapon sa second dose nila aron makabot gyud nato ang herd immunity ug ma happy atong Christmas," (Hopefully, those who joined us in the first round of vaccination will continue to assist us in the second round of vaccination for their second doses, allowing us to attain true herd immunity and have a great Christmas), Dr. Lacerona said. (PIA XI Davao del Norte/jmda/Ezri M.
