73K Dabawenyos reached thru mobile vaccination

DAVAO CITY, November 5 (PIA) – About 73,737 Dabawenyos were reached thru the Mobile Vaccination Program of the Davao City 19th City Council.

Harvey Lanticse from the Office of the Vice Mayor announced in a program over Davao City Disaster Radio that the mobile vaccination program has already accounted 44,210 fully vaccinated individuals.

“ We are expecting to reach 75,000 until the weekend. Yesterday alone, we have inoculated 2,5000 in five barangays,” Lanticse said.

The mobile vaccination program is a strategy done in Davao City to fast track the vaccination roll out and reach out the individuals who have limitations in going to the regular vaccination sites.

Each city councilor is assigned to a particular barangay where they lead in organizing up to mobilizing vaccinees for a vaccination schedule set in strategic venue within the barangay such as gymnasium or barangay hall.

Meanwhile, the 19th City Council has also kicked off its first Door-to-door vaccination roll-out last October 30 where 36 individuals who signed up were all successfully vaccinated.

About 18 of the vaccinees are residents of the First District while another 18 are from the Second District.

The Door-to-door Vaccination is offered to bedridden senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and those who have difficulty in going to Fixed Vaccination Sites.

The Vice Mayor’s Office reiterated that those who think could qualify for this program may send in a text message the name of the individual, health condition, complete address, and contact number thru 09702747025 and 09951750064.

Qualified individuals will be contacted by a team from the Vice Mayor’s Office for the screening and scheduling.

Single dose anti-COVID vaccines will be used for the door-to-door vaccination or would also depend on the vaccine availability.

Lanticse asked for the understanding of the individuals qualified for this program to wait for the team to reach them as common experience of the teams is the delay of movement due to access problem.

For the door-to-door vaccination set today, the city targets to reach out and inoculate 102 individuals. (PIA XI/Frances Mae Macapagat)
