PCOO undertakes Duterte Legacy campaign



DAVAO CITY, Sept. 20 (PIA)- The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) will be undertaking a comprehensive communication campaign highlighting the gains of the Duterte administration for 2016 to 2021 (even reaching to 2022) dubbed as the Duterte Legacy.

 

Kaning (this) Duterte Legacy campaign it is a report to the people sa mga nabuhat ni  (made by) President Rodrigo Duterte sa atong nasod (to our nation) for the last 5 years and eventually the entire 6 years. It is about reporting the deliveries of the Duterte administration  versus the promises he made in 2016,” PCOO chief Sec. Martin Andanar said during his  radio guesting at Radio Singko Davao 101.9 FM News

 

Sec. Andanar cited legacies in peace and order which included the signing of the Bangsamoro Organic Law which led to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao which ended decades of conflict with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. Also in peace and order the Duterte Presidency established the National Task Force- Ending Local Communist Armed Conflic which led to the surrender of 18,000 rebels and sympathizers. Also achievements were 22,000 barangays that were drug cleared and 64% reduction in crime volume.

 

In Anti-corruption the President implemented the Freedom of information Act (FOI) which made the national government more transparent, he created the Presidential Anti-Graft Commission and the Anti-Red Tape Act or ARTA was strengthened.

 

Poverty incident 24% to 13% in the last 5 years especially in the pre pandemic times,”  Sec. Andanar said of the poverty-reduction achievements as among part of the Duterte Legacy.

 

Also cited was Build, Build, Build which created 6.5 million jobs, the Universal Healthcare Law, fee education in State Universities and Colleges which benefited 1.6 million young Filipinos, Malasakit Centers which provided free medication and medicines to indigents.

 

According to Sec. Andanar the Duterte Legacy will not be piece meal and time bound as regular communication campaign rather it would be a whole-of-nation approach involving government agencies which contributed or helped in the legacy.

LTO to public: Do not patronize colorum vehicles

  NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro (PIA) - An official of the Land Transportation Office enjoined the public for the eradication of colorum vehicles plying the streets in Davao region. During the second episode of Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas in Davao City, LTO XI Regional Director Eleanor Calderon urged the public not to patronize colorum vehicles to avoid any road safety risk and to also complement their enforcement operations against these violators. “If we stop patronizing these (colorum vehicles), they will just die a natural death; mawala ra na sila sa kalsad a (they will just vanish in our roads),” Calderon said. The traffic official emphasized that LTO XI has apprehended a total of 115 colorum vehicles from January to April 2024. Calderon also provided tips to identify colorum vehicles. Pilipinas Shell to build import facility in Sta. Cruz, DavSur

DAVAO CITY, April 22-   Petroleum giant Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation will be constructing its Darong Import Facility in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. When completed it will be the third largest import facility in the country after the Shell Import Facility Tabangao in Batangas and the North Mindanao Import Facility in Cagayan de Oro. The Darong Import Facility has a rated capacity of 67-million liters of petroleum products.   The import facility will help and promote business continuity and stability in the area by providing needed fuel resources for mobility during storms, floods and other calamities.
