DAVAO DE ORO, May 27, 2022 (PIA) - - The provincial government of Davao de Oro brought a caravan of services to one of the farthest villages in the province, Sitio Cagan in New Bataan.
The community outreach program provided the residents with medical check-up, haircut, dental services, minor surgical operations, vitamins and medicines, agricultural inputs, food packs, and school supplies.
Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy stressed that the program aims to bring the government closer to the people, especially to those residing in the geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.
“Parte kini sa atong tinguha nga mas mapaabot pa ang pagpangalagad sa gobyerno sa mga lagyong lugar sa Davao de Oro para sa tiunay nga kalambuan ug malahutayong kalinaw,” Governor Uy said. (This is part of our purpose for the services of the government to reach even the farthest places in Davao de Oro for a genuine progress and sustained peace.)
Led by the Oplan Pagbabago Provincial Task Force on Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict, the activity also hopes to strengthen the ties between the government and the villagers against the communist rebels.
During the program, troops of the Armed Forces of the Philippines provided security and manpower for the distribution of goods to the beneficiaries. (PIA11, Michael Uy)
