DAVAO DEL NORTE, Mar. 3 (PIA) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI recently launched the Livelihood Start-up Project in Davao Del Norte to give new job opportunities to workers and jobless residents displaced by the pandemic.
With the theme "Umpisang Pagbangon, Proyektong Pangkabuhayan ang Tugon,” the activity aimed at gathering the various industries, tripartite councils, non-government organizations, private and public institutions to come up with innovations in providing sustainable livelihood programs for the people.
DOLE XI's Regional Director, Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy, hoped that these innovations in the livelihood programs from DOLE will be brought nearer to the people, especially at this time of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Atty. Jason Balais, the Assistant Regional Director of DOLE XI asked partner industries to come up with new ideas on what livelihood programs will be sustainable for the people.
"DOLE is running out of ideas. We do not monopolize the ideas here so we engage with others' ideas and that's why we formalized this project," Balais said.
The said livelihood start-up project is a competition of livelihood project proposals that are open to all industries, state and private colleges and universities, corporate foundations, and NGOs.
DOLE National Chief, Ma. Lourdes Gonzales encourages various organizations not to waste the opportunity as they will also help the people in their communities with their ideas.
The winners will be announced on May 1, 2022, during the celebration of the National Labor day. (PIA XI Davao del Norte/jmda/Ezri M. Coda, Jr. with reports from PIO - Davao Del Norte)
