“As of February 15, 2022 we have an eligible 147 beneficiaries, we have already assessed them. They are qualified under the program and are ready for dispatch operations, “this according to Atty Sonny Paul Cirunay, legal officer of the National Housing Association.

The BP2P is an ongoing program of the national government that seeks to ensure balance regional development and equitable distribution of wealth income, opportunities and resources through program and policies that boost countryside development and inclusive growth.
“We see that our countrymen specifically in the provinces they all go to the national capital region and other highly-urbanized cities in Luzon in the hopes of bettering their lives unfortunately it resulted in congestion of these cities,” Cirunay said.
During the pandemic the program has helped people who had lost their sources of income in the cities, to return to their places of origins and start life anew.
“We understand in the provinces meron naman talagang opportunities waiting for them, the quality of life in the provinces is getting better,” Cirunay said.
He said that the program is not a one-time thing as it employs a whole of government approach to help the return of the beneficiaries become a successful endeavor.
Among the services given to the beneficiaries include capacity building seminars, transitory shelter provisions and other benefits from the different government agencies.
And recently it has also partnered with the private sector. Cirunay cited that NHA has partnered with the Jaime Ongpin foundation where children of beneficiaries were given tablets courtesy of the foundation to help them in their online classes. (PIA/RG Alama)
