PSA Davao Occidental resumes national ID mobile registration  

DAVAO CITY, Feb. 2 (PIA) – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) of Davao Occidental has deployed in late January the mobile registration in the municipalities of Malita and Sta. Maria to resume the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration for the year 2022.

 

PSA Davao Occidental Provincial Officer Jessie A. Madulin said that the PhilSys mobile registration is currently in operation in the barangays of Little Baguio, Fishing Village, Lacaron and Buhangin in Malita.  

 

In Santa Maria, the residents of Basiawan, Poblacion and San Agustin can avail of the mobile registration.

 

As of December 31, 2021, PSA Davao Occidental has registered a total of 206,498 registrants from the five municipalities of the province since the beginning of the registration on February 23, 2021, Madulin bared.

 

He said that PhilSys Phase 1 which was administered in February to May 2021 has garnered 165,519 registrants from 10 registration centers.

 

The mobile registration approach of PhilSys Phase 2 conducted in June to December 2021 has registered 40,979 individuals, he disclosed.

 

In preparation for this year’s resumption of the registration, the PSA Davao Occidental has organized the PhilSys step 2 registration 3rd level training for the hired PhilSys registration team.

 

Madulin said that the training was intended to “reinforce and provide necessary information, policies, guidelines, instructions and technical training for better and uniform understanding of the PhilSys registration.”

 

He said that the 2022 PhilSys registration team is composed of three registration center supervisors, three screeners, three alternate screeners and eight registration kit operators.

 

The PSA Davao Occidental has deployed eight registration kits for the PhilSys mobile registration, he added. (PIA-XI/Carina L. Cayon)

LTO to public: Do not patronize colorum vehicles

  NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro (PIA) - An official of the Land Transportation Office enjoined the public for the eradication of colorum vehicles plying the streets in Davao region. During the second episode of Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas in Davao City, LTO XI Regional Director Eleanor Calderon urged the public not to patronize colorum vehicles to avoid any road safety risk and to also complement their enforcement operations against these violators. “If we stop patronizing these (colorum vehicles), they will just die a natural death; mawala ra na sila sa kalsad a (they will just vanish in our roads),” Calderon said. Pilipinas Shell to build import facility in Sta. Cruz, DavSur

DAVAO CITY, April 22-   Petroleum giant Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation will be constructing its Darong Import Facility in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. When completed it will be the third largest import facility in the country after the Shell Import Facility Tabangao in Batangas and the North Mindanao Import Facility in Cagayan de Oro. The Darong Import Facility has a rated capacity of 67-million liters of petroleum products.   The import facility will help and promote business continuity and stability in the area by providing needed fuel resources for mobility during storms, floods and other calamities.
