LTFRB-XI readies to implement subsidies


DAVAO CITY, Feb. 3 (PIA)—An official of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board XI said their agency is ready to implement their social programs   like the fuel subsidy appropriation for 2022, which is being worked out by the LTFRB Central Office with the DOTR in crafting the guidelines for its implementation. 


Nonito Llanos III, director of the LTFRB XI said those who made used of the fuel subsidy in 2021 will enjoy additional subsidy before the term of President Duterte ends.  


He said that the program “Libreng Sakay para sa mga Health Workers and Authorized Persons outside residences,” will resume for its phase III this year,” he said.  


Llanos said that in Region XI, they have laid out the service routes, to be coordinated with the City Transport and Traffic Management Office   for smooth implementation especially among public utility, vans and jeepneys that organized into a juridical entity into cooperatives or corporations.   


“ Only those organized into coops will enjoy the libreng sakay while operators and drivers with individual franchises will have their respective fuel subsidy,” he said.   


Llanos bared that last year, a total of 3,000 beneficiaries were given a fuel subsidy worth P7,200 each.


He bared that a total of eleven gasoline stations have participated in respecting the government’s fuel subsidy program.  


Llanos called on the operators to have an internal agreement with the drivers in sharing the blessings regarding the fuel subsidy program.  


He said the releasing of cards is based on the first letter of the surname of operators/ drivers and can be seen through the LTFRB XI Facebook page which will be released on February 5 at the LTRFB XI Office.  


Llanos said claimants must present their QR codes to monitor everyone who enters the premises.

Pilipinas Shell to build import facility in Sta. Cruz, DavSur

DAVAO CITY, April 22-   Petroleum giant Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation will be constructing its Darong Import Facility in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. When completed it will be the third largest import facility in the country after the Shell Import Facility Tabangao in Batangas and the North Mindanao Import Facility in Cagayan de Oro. The Darong Import Facility has a rated capacity of 67-million liters of petroleum products.   The import facility will help and promote business continuity and stability in the area by providing needed fuel resources for mobility during storms, floods and other calamities. LTO to public: Do not patronize colorum vehicles

  NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro (PIA) - An official of the Land Transportation Office enjoined the public for the eradication of colorum vehicles plying the streets in Davao region. During the second episode of Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas in Davao City, LTO XI Regional Director Eleanor Calderon urged the public not to patronize colorum vehicles to avoid any road safety risk and to also complement their enforcement operations against these violators. “If we stop patronizing these (colorum vehicles), they will just die a natural death; mawala ra na sila sa kalsad a (they will just vanish in our roads),” Calderon said. The traffic official emphasized that LTO XI has apprehended a total of 115 colorum vehicles from January to April 2024. Calderon also provided tips to identify colorum vehicles.
