32 Nabbed in Police Ops in Davao de Oro


DAVAO DE ORO, Feb. 21 (PIA) - A total of 32 persons were arrested during the weekend in the simultaneous anti-criminality and law enforcement operations of the Philippine National Police in Davao de Oro.


According to the report from the Davao de Oro Provincial Police Office (DDOPPO), the police nabbed eleven individuals from seven towns through search warrants, buy-bust and checkpoint operations. The identified municipalities were Mabini, Maco, Mawab, Monkayo, New Bataan, and Nabunturan.


Along with the nabbed persons, the police also seized 2.5308 grams of white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine or shabu loaded in 25 sachets, and one pack 30.2 grams of marijuana dried leaves. The street value of the drugs confiscated is at PhP 20,833.44.


In its operations in Laak, Mawab, Pantukan, and Nabunturan, the police also apprehended four persons with five loose firearms, and 12 live ammunitions.


Aside from that, the police also captured 17 most wanted persons; seven of which were most wanted in the municipal level.

Police Colonel Leonard L. Luna, provincial director, stressed that on his assumption, his directive is to really curve down the crimes in the province.


“The promising result of the Simultaneous Anti Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) will have a big impact in the reduction and prevention of crimes. These accomplishments also speaks for the commitment and dedications of the men and women of the Davao de Oro PNP to serve and protect the golden people of the province.”

LTO to public: Do not patronize colorum vehicles

  NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro (PIA) - An official of the Land Transportation Office enjoined the public for the eradication of colorum vehicles plying the streets in Davao region. During the second episode of Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas in Davao City, LTO XI Regional Director Eleanor Calderon urged the public not to patronize colorum vehicles to avoid any road safety risk and to also complement their enforcement operations against these violators. “If we stop patronizing these (colorum vehicles), they will just die a natural death; mawala ra na sila sa kalsad a (they will just vanish in our roads),” Calderon said. Pilipinas Shell to build import facility in Sta. Cruz, DavSur

DAVAO CITY, April 22-   Petroleum giant Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation will be constructing its Darong Import Facility in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. When completed it will be the third largest import facility in the country after the Shell Import Facility Tabangao in Batangas and the North Mindanao Import Facility in Cagayan de Oro.
