Tagum youth org launches Project Kabute for former youth rebels

DAVAO DEL NORTE, Jan. 6 (PIA) -- The Youth For Peace Movement - Tagum City Chapter launched the Project Kabute as a livelihood program for the youth rebel returnees, according to its President, Winberth D. San Jose during  the January 5 Network Briefing News.

After winning the project pitching contest during the PANAGHIUSA: International Peace Camp and Grants Competition amounting to P30,000.00 in March 2020, the organization was able to commence the Project Kabute with the said grant, giving a new livelihood program for the former youth rebels.

Also, machange yong kanilang lifestyle po kasi nga po they are former rebels (This project aims to give these youth a chance to earn for a living while changing their lifestyles from rebellion),” San Jose explained.

San Jose further explained how the former youth rebels will benefit from the project.

Through the mushroom production where the seed grant we won last time will fund it, the total profit will be given to them),” he added.

He also shared that since the project is critical, his organization's coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) strengthened their advocacies fearlessly towards peace and development.

It's the reason why our main partner is the 101st Infantry Battalion under the 10th ID. They are really our partner towards advocating sustainable peace and development),” he said

The Youth For Peace Movement - Tagum City Chapter is an initiative of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sustained by community youth leaders advocating for peace and development. (PIA XI Davao del Norte/jmda/Ezri M. Coda, Jr.)

Though we are young, though we are still around two-years old from the time we were launched, I say we are fortunate because we did not start from zero. We were a campus of SPAMAST such that there wer...
