Tagum Rotarians, Tagum Coop haul P2 million relief for Odette victims


DAVAO DEL NORTE, 21 Jan (PIA)— Tagum City-based Rotary Clubs and Tagum Coop recently pooled together their resources to haul PhP2 million worth of  assorted assistance to Typhoon Odette victims in Surigao City.

 

In a report posted online by the Rotary Club of Tagum Golden L.A.C.E.S (Ladies in Action Committed to Effective Service), two-winged vans hauled relief packs of rice canned goods, noodles, mineral waters, tarpaulins and blankets.  Rotary Club of  Tagum North also  formed part  of  Tagum City-based Rotarians involved in  the relief distribution.

 

Conducted early January 2022, the Tagum Coop and Rotary Club outreach benefited 2,850 families in 14 barangays of Surigao City.





The Tagum Cooperative outreach team was spearheaded by its Vice Chairperson Janet Matuguinas and Director Rosamaria Torrejano while  the Rotary Club force of benefactors brought in their spouses, the Rotakids and Rotaractors.

 

“Rotary and Tagum Cooperative had once again proven how collaboration and partnership between two respected and reliable organizations can bring forth genuine assistance and humanitarian help to those in need,” RC Tagum Golden L.A.C.E.S. said in a release.

 

Given credit in organizing and pushing through the undertaking were  the Rotary District 3860 Disaster Management, Inc. Chairperson District Governor Anna Louisa Bumagat and Executive Director Archie Gamboa, Past Assistant Governor Arlene Adlawan, Area 2D Assistant Governor Charles Aldwin Carpio, Area 3K Assistant Governor Gaze Yuipco, Past President Ernesto Kang ,Tagum Cooperative CEO Juris Perez and Police Lt Col Tess Moleta of the Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office. More NPAs surrender in DavNor

DAVAO DEL NORTE, Nov. 23 (PIA) – More than 30 former members of the Communist Party of the Philippines - New People's Army (CPP-NPA) recently surrendered to government troops in the Province of Davao Del Norte with their firearms turned over to the 10th Infantry AGILA Division of  the Philippine Army. Parents urged to register children to Safe Davao QR before vax

DAVAO CITY, February 22—(PIA) A local vaccine czar urged parents to register first their children aged five to eleven to the SAFEDAVAO QR before they can go to vaccine sites for inoculation. Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, Vaccination Cluster head of the city bared the registration to the SAFEDAVAOQR is crucial so that their children will be integrated in the local vaccination system. She said that the vaccination for children now is on its second phase, with three vaccination sites namely San Roque Elementary School in Barrio Obrero, Vicente Hizon Elementary School at Barangay Sasa and the Almendras gym. “Children can be vaccinated on these sites, whether they are walk-ins provided they have registered at the SAFEDAVAOQR,” Villafuerte said.
