Gov Uy inaugurates PhP 6.5M BDP projects in Calabcab, Maco



DAVAO DE ORO, January 13 (PIA) -  Davao del Oro Provincial Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy inaugurated on Thursday three Barangay Development Program (BDP) projects worth PhP 6.5 million in Barangay Calabcab, Maco.


The projects launched were PhP 3-million Flood Control Project, PhP 3-million Sitio Street Electrification Project, and Cattle Livelihood Project worth PhP 500,000.


Governor Uy congratulated the residents of the barangay for keeping their community, free from insurgent, which caused them to have PhP 20-million BDP projects from the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte through the National Task Force To End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF ELCAC).


Aside from the inaugurated projects, a total of 265 persons benefited last year from the Cash for Work program worth PhP 2-million.


Also, two projects are still ongoing, namely, PhP 1.5-million Improvement of Health Center, and PhP 10-million Water System Project.


The governor also stressed that there is no reason for the community to support again the communist movement.


“Maghugpong gyud ta (against the NPA). Dili nata magpasulod dinhi. Unsa bay natabang nila sa atoa? Ang nadala lamang nila kay kasamok lang man sa unang panahon.” (Let us unite (against the NPA). Let us not allow them to enter our place. What help did we get from them? They only brought chaos before.)

 

Meanwhile, residents of the barangay expressed their gratitude to the government for projects implemented in their community.


Lany Bolongon, 48, is thankful for the cattle that their family received hoping that the animal will help them soon in providing additional finances for the education of their children.


Likewise, Henry Valiente, 60, is grateful for the flood control project is a big help to prevent disaster from happening in their community.

DOH XI hires more nurses, doctors

DAVAO CITY, September 6 (PIA) – The Department of Health XI bared its emergency hiring for nurses and doctors following the need to augment the personnel requirement of COVID19 hospitals from all over the region. The head of the DOH XI Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Dr. Rachel Pasion, in today’s DOH Virtual Presser reported that in Davao City alone combining both the COVID19 hospitals and the private hospitals have utilized 674 COVID19 beds out of the 830 beds or 79.4 utilization rate. This brings the region’s critical care utilization at a high risk level. The Southern Philippine Medical Center, in the past few days, released an advisory informing the public that it has been experiencing an unusually high volume of patients needing admission for COVID19. Mati City releases new tricycle fare guidelines

DAVAO ORIENTAL, Apr. 6 (PIA) -- The City Government of Mati has issued a new set of tricycle fare guidelines due to the increase in gasoline prices over the past weeks.   Under the City Ordinance No. 527 Series of 2022 or the "Ordinance Imposing the Regulation of Fare and Motorized  Tricycle-for-Hire in the City of Mati," the minimum fares are peg on the prevailing fuel prices. If the gasoline prices would hover at P40.00 to P49.99 per liter the minimum fare would be pegged at P9.00. If fuel prices are at P50.00 to P69.99/liter, minimum fare would be at P12.00 The current minimum fare is now P14.00 as the price of gasoline is between P70.00 to P89.99 per liter.   If the gasoline increase would go from P90.00 to P99.00/liter, the minimum fare will be P15.00. The price of gasoline is not the only indicator of the passenger's fare.
