DavNor sends relief ops team to Surigao City




DAVAO DEL NORTE, Jan. 4 (PIA) -- The Provincial Government of Davao Del Norte sent help to the affected residents of Surigao City after Typhoon Rai locally named Odette struck the city and its neighboring municipalities. The Davao Del Norte Team brought relief goods worth P3M on December 29, 2021, Wednesday, despite the bad weather.

Davao Del Norte Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Division headed by Glenda Delideli together with personnel from the Davao Del Norte  Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Fevelyn Marfe and Gigi Cacacho turned over 1,115 sacks of rice and 100 boxes of canned sardines to the City Mayor Ernesto "Estong" Matugas.

The local government of Surigao City immediately distributed the relief goods to every barangay using their vehicles.

Apart from the food and potable water, Matugas saw the residents' dire need of wide tents as a replacement to their broken roofs and rains still pour now and then.

"Besides food, ang trapal ang amo nakit-an nga kinahanglan gajud kay sige gihapong ulan diri sa Surigao. Naglisud gyud ang mga tao kay ang mga atop gajud namo nanglupad. So para di kaayo mi mabasa, isa gyud na sa pinaka-important nga material nga among girequest," (Apart from the food, what we saw as an urgent need are portable tents because rains are still pouring over Surigao. People really suffer from the broken or lost roofs. So to keep us dry, it's really an important material included in our request), said Matugas in One DavNor Network's interview.

Matugas expressed his gratutide to the government of Davao Del Norte for the relief operations.

The relief operations of the Province of Davao Del Norte to these affected areas after the Resolution No. 1210 series of 2021 was approved allocating P15M from the Quick Response Fund. DOH XI hires more nurses, doctors

DAVAO CITY, September 6 (PIA) – The Department of Health XI bared its emergency hiring for nurses and doctors following the need to augment the personnel requirement of COVID19 hospitals from all over the region. The head of the DOH XI Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Dr. Rachel Pasion, in today’s DOH Virtual Presser reported that in Davao City alone combining both the COVID19 hospitals and the private hospitals have utilized 674 COVID19 beds out of the 830 beds or 79.4 utilization rate. This brings the region’s critical care utilization at a high risk level. The Southern Philippine Medical Center, in the past few days, released an advisory informing the public that it has been experiencing an unusually high volume of patients needing admission for COVID19. Mati City releases new tricycle fare guidelines

DAVAO ORIENTAL, Apr. 6 (PIA) -- The City Government of Mati has issued a new set of tricycle fare guidelines due to the increase in gasoline prices over the past weeks.   Under the City Ordinance No. 527 Series of 2022 or the "Ordinance Imposing the Regulation of Fare and Motorized  Tricycle-for-Hire in the City of Mati," the minimum fares are peg on the prevailing fuel prices. If the gasoline prices would hover at P40.00 to P49.99 per liter the minimum fare would be pegged at P9.00. If fuel prices are at P50.00 to P69.99/liter, minimum fare would be at P12.00 The current minimum fare is now P14.00 as the price of gasoline is between P70.00 to P89.99 per liter.   If the gasoline increase would go from P90.00 to P99.00/liter, the minimum fare will be P15.00. The price of gasoline is not the only indicator of the passenger's fare.
