Davao de Oro extends help to Odette victims

Provincial information officer Fe Maestre distributes relief goods to the families in Surigao City


NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro, January 4 (PIA) - - After sending help to Surigao City, the provincial government of Davao de Oro is now preparing relief goods for the people of Bohol, who are devastated by Typhoon Odette.


Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy disclosed during the Monday Convocation that a second wave of assistance for Typhoon Odette victims is now being readied and will be transported anytime within this month.


The Governor jokingly said that they chose Bohol since ‘daghan mag Bolanon dinhi.’ (there are many native of Bohol, who are here.)

Last December 23, the provincial government sent ten trucks to Surigao loaded with rice, bottled water, canned goods, used clothes, medicines, face masks, blankets, sanitary items, condiments, utensils, and trapal.


“We have used our Quick Response Fund amounting to almost PhP 3-million, and more than 50 individuals ang nagtabang sa atoa,” he said referring to the help they gave to the Surigaonons.


Last December 29, the Provincial Women Development Council with its chairwoman Sholai Lim also distributed relief goods in Surigao City.


Aside from that, municipal governments in the province have also extended help.


The municipal government of Nabunturan sent a rescue team and its Mobile Kitchen to CARAGA Region to assist in the relief operation; while the local government unit of Monkayo with its donation drive also distributed relief goods to the people in Surigao City and Dinagat Islands. DOH XI hires more nurses, doctors

DAVAO CITY, September 6 (PIA) – The Department of Health XI bared its emergency hiring for nurses and doctors following the need to augment the personnel requirement of COVID19 hospitals from all over the region. The head of the DOH XI Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Dr. Rachel Pasion, in today’s DOH Virtual Presser reported that in Davao City alone combining both the COVID19 hospitals and the private hospitals have utilized 674 COVID19 beds out of the 830 beds or 79.4 utilization rate. This brings the region’s critical care utilization at a high risk level. The Southern Philippine Medical Center, in the past few days, released an advisory informing the public that it has been experiencing an unusually high volume of patients needing admission for COVID19. Mati City releases new tricycle fare guidelines

DAVAO ORIENTAL, Apr. 6 (PIA) -- The City Government of Mati has issued a new set of tricycle fare guidelines due to the increase in gasoline prices over the past weeks.   Under the City Ordinance No. 527 Series of 2022 or the "Ordinance Imposing the Regulation of Fare and Motorized  Tricycle-for-Hire in the City of Mati," the minimum fares are peg on the prevailing fuel prices. If the gasoline prices would hover at P40.00 to P49.99 per liter the minimum fare would be pegged at P9.00. If fuel prices are at P50.00 to P69.99/liter, minimum fare would be at P12.00 The current minimum fare is now P14.00 as the price of gasoline is between P70.00 to P89.99 per liter.   If the gasoline increase would go from P90.00 to P99.00/liter, the minimum fare will be P15.00. The price of gasoline is not the only indicator of the passenger's fare.
