Davao City’s Croc Park open for drive-thru vaccination


DAVAO City January 11(PIA)—The spokesperson of the COVID-19 in Davao City bared that the Crocodile Park is now open for drive-thru booster vaccination.  


Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of the COVID-19 Task Force said that starting today vaccination booster shots will be offered for drive-thru at the Crocodile Park for A1, A2, A3, A4 and A5.   


She said it is like walk-in for drive thru.  


Schlosser said the vaccinee may bring DQR code, vaccine card and ballpen.  


“The drive thru is good for cars but not for trisikads.   We will consult first if tricycles and motorcycles are allowed to give way to middle class families,” she said. 


Schlosser said they are already sending samples for genome sequencing to Manila for bio-surveillance and in time, Davaoeños will be briefed on the kind of variants dominating here in Davao City.  


She said the city has prepared for the surge through swabbing, contact tracing, and quarantine. 


“We have exerted our efforts by ten times more that why we do contact tracing, swabbing, isolation and quarantine, the beauty of faster management, to cut the infection,” Schlosser said.  


She cited the need for the people in a certain area to be disciplined to control the influx of the COVID-19 infection.  


Schlosser said the more cooperative to the authorities with the compliance of the health protocols the more chances that infection is at the minimum.  


She clarified that booster shots are now available in all vaccination hubs.  


Schlosser bared that the booster vaccines available are Sinovac, Moderna and Astra Zeneca at the Crocodile Park.

More NPAs surrender in DavNor

Parents urged to register children to Safe Davao QR before vax

DAVAO CITY, February 22—(PIA) A local vaccine czar urged parents to register first their children aged five to eleven to the SAFEDAVAO QR before they can go to vaccine sites for inoculation. Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, Vaccination Cluster head of the city bared the registration to the SAFEDAVAOQR is crucial so that their children will be integrated in the local vaccination system. She said that the vaccination for children now is on its second phase, with three vaccination sites namely San Roque Elementary School in Barrio Obrero, Vicente Hizon Elementary School at Barangay Sasa and the Almendras gym. “Children can be vaccinated on these sites, whether they are walk-ins provided they have registered at the SAFEDAVAOQR,” Villafuerte said.
